2026 Novice Hurdlers

There's nothing to say Proactif isn't better than Narciso Has at the moment.

If they feel Selma could overturn the form from yesterdays race they may go double handed and hope Proactif can improve beyond NH.
If he turns out to be better then Narciso at Cheltenham that would give him a great chance in a supreme getting the 10lbs

And as Jim said, if they do that they could end up with nothing like the year they had Fakir/Sir Erec.

They'll play it safe, IMO, both to the Triumph if fit and well.

Both times JP has done it he has ended up with nothing (Binocular/Franchoek and Fakir/Sir Erec). However, it is significant that JP made an entry for him as they are usually quite sparing with entries (e.g Fact to File!). You would think that this would mean that it is definitely being considered. His lack of experience must make sticking to the Triumph the preferred option - as Jim pointed out, Fakir had run 7 times (4 hurdles, 2 chases, 1 bumper) before contesting the Supreme and Binocular had run 7 times on the flat despite only two hurdle runs prior to him lining up. The last 4yo winner (Hors La Loi) had run 8 times (4 hurdles, 4 flat) before winning it. If he were to have another run then I guess the Supreme may be relatively more likely but I still think they would go Triumph.

Is it me, or are those RPR’s for the 2m novice hurdle on Sunday a bit low (even with the slow pace)?

Interesting to see if those get changed at all over the next few days. I’m surprised it hasn’t been rated at least on a par with the Christmas race at Leop.

Captain cee bee won though.
So not nothing.

True - but should have won both.
shoulda woulda coulda, mighta
They'll make decisions near the time and they'll win some and lose some.
Doubt very much past wins and losses will affect current decisions too much.

Talk The Talk a sea of blue across Oddschecker for Turners..............has something been said do we know ? Personally I genuinely believe it is the right race for him. For once pocket and brain in sync !

Only thing I’ve seen was Ruby Walsh going on about him winning the Turner’s on rtc.
Need more than that though I would have thought. Not as if he’s a Mullins horse.

Makes bambino fevers return even more promising at a time when Mullins horses wernt running the best after watching that at fairyhouse

Oldschool Outlaw very good. Paul didn't seem too bothered about getting into a battle with her, but when the 3rd pulled up alongside he gave Place De La Nation a ride and she pulled back clear of that one again.

50's may be an overreaction by 365, given she had to give the whole field 4lbs today.

Old School looked on a different level don;t you think ?
I'd have had a right go at 9/2 NRNB had I been able to access a mates account quick enough.
already backed her and Henry's 2 but she looks a massive threat to Bambino IMO

Is TTT for sale still? Few mentions about this.

Oldschool Outlaw the one to beat for me after that performance, was simply devastating

How Hills went 5/1 NRNB is utter madness

Yeah, probably was, and the 4lbs likely made only a small difference.

That said, if her and Bambino scoot clear in the race I could see Place De La Nation staying on to grab a place and 50's seemed a bit excessive to me.

One for a handicap maybe Place De La Nation. Coral Cup? Pipe?

Or probably just not that good.

Winners done it well mind. Think she's pretty useful. Won't be easy for Bambino to reverse form.
