Ultima Handicap Chase 2020

.....Ben Pauling just interviewed on ATR says Kildisart in fine form but ‘just doesn’t handle heavy or sloppy ground’.

This comes as a massive shock.....:highly_amused:

Cheers Eggs

For those on Kildisart, how do you feel about Daryl Jacob on the horse, am I right in thinking he hasn't had a winner since Lac Fontana in the county in 2014? I'd imagine he has had decent rides every year since then and not picked up a single winner? Personally he doesn't fill me with any confidence on a horse.

I wouldn’t be keen on any horse running here on soft ground, when their main aim is to try to win the Grand National three-and-a-half weeks later. The same for Le Breuil too.

Has Ben said the national is the main target?

He is still in it, at no 32, carrying 10st 5lb. Could this be his best chance?

Le Breuil needs twenty to come out, which could easily happen. Though this year with Tiger Roll so high in the handicap, from horse 8 and lower, they are below 11st, so I think a lot will give it a go, as they have a low weight.

The conditional number 32 at the moment. Plenty above him with other targets so looks likely to get in :encouragement:

With the 50 left in I thought the majority below him in the weights would have been taken out but a fair few of them have been left in so number 32 at the moment should get in IMO

Brave Eagle for me. Will be getting a good chunk of my allocated cash for this race on Tuesday

Has Vindication been minded for this or has there been issues?

I think they had to back off him after his first run, which might explain (only fractionally excuses) why they haven't entered in the graded races and have ended up in a handicap off 159.

Looking at this market it's worth pointing out how bad the prices are right now.
There's practically no value in most of these markets now. Aside from the jockey booking type races (although they seem to have settled a lot now)

The B365 prices have

Vinndication @ 11/2
Then the next five n the betting all at 8-1.

This is shocking value and the vast majority of these will be a good 25% bigger on or near the day.

It really is bad value, most have quite large overrounds considering we're still 6 days away.

I had Fitzhenry lined up for Kim Muir but had a nice weight here now,

He better go Kim Muir! Have AP at 37s for that! Nowt in the Ultima.

PN wants to send him KM and he has the 3rd fav for this in Discorama. With only 2 handicap entries across the board I'd be very surprised if he ran both here, even more so with some notable JP absence's from the KM (which I think he was lucky to get into). NRNB though so I suppose no harm no foul.

The trend I have observed is some good value/ ricks when NRNB first out with definite opportunities between handicap entries and weights. Value then just disappears post weights through preview circuit until decs. There will be better value at 11 on Tuesday than now.

Or No comment

Scratch that - no 40
Fitzhenry 27 and would be near bottom

PN confirmed Discorama for this yesterday so Fitzhenry will most likely be aimed at the KM, or saved for the Irish National.
