Ultima Handicap Chase 2020

I'm on:

Vinndication 12/1
Discorama 33/1
Cepage 20/1
Kildisart 33/1
Vintage Clouds 50/1

Really want to add the two in the post above too.... :dejection:

Of the ones I haven't backed, the two that really stand out are The Conditional who is just clearly well-in on his Newbury run - impossible to argue with his claims.

-------------------------

The other is Who Dares Wins who I've missed the price on but what a freakin ace little horse.

In 2018 he went Cheltenham Festival in March, Aintree Festival in April then in May hopped back onto the Flat to my local track Chester and placed in the Chester Cup!

Been 4th in a Group 1 in France, 3rd in a Coral Cup at Cheltenham, been on the almost last in a Triumph. 3rd in a Royal Ascot handicap.

A winner over fences, hurdles and on the flat (Northumberland Plate)

Got within a neck of De Plotting Shed who wins the Northen Trust :devilish:

Latest win was a Grade 2 over fences.

What a remarkable horse. That's stunning isn't it really. I can't back him at 10/1 but what a horse.

Same here, I can’t bring myself to back him at 10/1 but the last time I backed him and won some money he was racing in a top class 2 mile race on the all weather some where!! He’s done it all and keeps competing. I hope he saves his next win for after the Ultima though!!

Activial is on my radar here.

He's only 25/1 at the moment but I anticipate him being one of those that drifts a bit because he isn't a sexy pick for this race at all.

He was 6th last year, off 6lb higher and was beaten 7L. Based purely on that, he's handicapped to be in the mix so 25/1 is a fair price... but.... he went off 40/1 last year so I'm hoping for the same again this year.

I imagine he'll find a couple too good, but fingers crossed for 6 places and 33/1+

One I like as well and expect to drift. In December 18 he lost a shd to Kildisart, giving him 11 pounds over 2m5. Kildisart well fancied in this and carrying 5 pounds more (obviously improved a lot more since that run). He has the speed to be competitive over shorter and is usually up with the pace and should stay out of trouble.

I expect even if he is 20s on the day, I'd back him with 6 places available.

I backed him for this last season. He jumped really well and I was getting interested coming down the hill. He's 6lb lower in the weights this year but I struggle to see him being good enough to win.

The better the ground, the better his chance and I would back if I could get 33s 6 places as well.

You done the related double?

Haha, I will actully just for 0.5 pts.

and actually just in the process of making the case for A Great View in the Pertemps....

Back in 2018, A Great View finished a head behind Who Dares Wins who was 5th that day

:highly_amused:

Trixie it is!

Definitely be adding a couple to this team.
I'll have a real good look over next day or two.

Mulcahy's Hill 28-1 1pt ew4 B365
Cogry 28-1 1pt ew4 B365
Burbank 25-1 1pt ew4 B365

Added these three.

I really like that Mulcahy's Hill recorded his best RPR over 3m½f vs Wholestone at Cheltenham. That's very decent course form and certainly better than some of those ahead of him in the market.

Anyone fancy Big River? Strong finishing 6l 4th last year and 3lb better off this time. Nothing wrong with last run. Looks value at 28s.

I like Big River, but thats how he runs, and might just be too far back again, if he gets round.

Yep, him and cogry were picked for that reason (course form) alone.

Landed on Atlanta Ablaze, was in the process of running a cracker in the NHC last year. Wind op, hopefully she can out run the 33s.

Burbank as well with his course form.

Backed AA last year. Ran well but felt he was tiring fast when he fell. That said, if the wind op helps, he's a great e/w bet. 1lb better off this time.

He didn't run in a handicap last year?

......Sporting Life’s Ben Linfoot goes for Quaranta @ 40-1 in his value bet column.

Added Big River at 25/1
'Sea of Blue' so I assume been tipped up somewhere... was hoping for a bit bigger to be honest but will make the move now.

this is on the day 1 specials with hills if you fancy getting Big River onside a different way:

Big river and the conditional to finish top 5 in the ultima handicap @25/1

Oh yeah, I do like that, thanks.
