Ultima Business Solutions Handicap Chase 2018

4/1!! That's some serious shirking from PP!

That is an unbelivable price for a horse that beat the 143 rated Sizing Tenessee by a neck getting 3 lbs (in the race he beat WC)

I am staggered.

Elliott on the Storyteller today:

He'll be entered in a few of the handicaps as well as the JLT. I thought he ran very well behind Monalee at Leopardstown and he's another who we're looking forward to.

Rated 147, the novices handicap chase is out, as is the Kim Muir. So that leaves this race, the Plate....or maybe a hurdle handicap entry perhaps?!

I've taken the 16/s NRNB for this race though as I think he'd be best suited to this race. Certainly think 3 miles will show him in best light, something we still haven't seen. Perhaps having held him back deliberately over that trip until the festival?

Would be a very significant time to try 3 miles for the first time.... I'd take it very seriously.

SOmeone did also mention his hurdle mark so that is good news for them too potentially.

I don't think he'd go off 16/1..... likely to have Davy onboard too if he came here...?

I have followed suit here

I'll be backing The Storyteller wherever he goes.

Really wish id taken you up on this scooby ;-)

Hello mac - welcome to the forum.

Who by?

Hi Kev, thanks for the welcome and its a great forum i stumbled accross.

I was told by a friend who has connections in a few yards

Has anyone got any strong opinions on this race? I honestly don't think I've ever been so opinionless on a Cheltenham race 3 weeks in advance - I just can't seem to find much of an angle on anything!

I've just read back through the whole thread and Jono makes a decent case for Robinsfirth. With the Tizzards seemingly hitting form at the right time could be an interesting one, although I always had him down as looking like he needed about 4 miles. I've had a small bet nrnb on The Storyteller just because I want him onside wherever he goes, but I suspect he might end up elsewhere.

Only the 3 I am sticking by currently, Singlefarmpayment, Gold Present (though likely to skip the festival according to connections) and Beware The Bear.

The Storyteller would interest me too IF he turns up here.

Can't have a strong opinion on any handicap until the weights are out even though 5lb is only one poor jump.

Fair point Archie, though I do think it's possible to build some sort of picture of a race before the weights are out. I do plenty of work on the handicaps before the end of Feb, but then perhaps I'm a fool! :highly_amused:

Shocking the amount of money that came for Yanworth that was ill-informed really.

He opened 8/1 which I thought was staggering and got to 4s!

Very odd. All-in-all though, pretty irrelevant.

Fair enough in an nrnb market with plenty of speculative bets.

Finding a good jumper would be a good start if that is the case...:highly_amused:

For the sake of conversation (as I haven;t really got anything notable to add in terms of a fancy right now)...

In a handicap like this are we likely to find any that are chucked in?
Any low enough to really put the others to the sword?
Or are we better looking at the classier, higher rated sorts, that will have their conditions on the day?

I've been going to Cheltenham for over 30 years and never backed the winner of this. Think I'd better pass.
