RSA Chase 2020

So are the rules on this forum you must like the media hyped horses and stars like Altior.
Is it against forum rules to be against these types?

Im lost here. Help me out. All I can see is debate on a horse and what qpuld or wouldnt have happened.

What do you see Charlie?

The facts are when Champ runs on a flat track he finds enough to win.

The two times he ran at a track with a steep finish he didnt find enough to win.

Spin it however you like.

I havent said anything about the horse not staying. Its a fact he is unproven over the RSA trip. Thats not an opinion its a fact. It doesnt mean he wont stay jist that he hasnt proven that he will yet.

At no point have I said he wont stay any trip for that matter. I say a hill blunts his finishing speed. As it stands on evidence thats fact.

Think this is a valid point to be honest. In the Ballymore I was expecting Champ to find that extra gear and go past City Island but he didn't find it. I dont think it's because City Island is a quicker horse or anything like that.
However I do think Champ would have pissed it yesterday.

Phewww. Thankfully I am respectful at all times of all members views/opinions and I only engage in healthy racing debate and not personal attacks and I never use bad language.

Instructing fellow members to 'open their eyes' is not respectful ET.
I suggest you consider your posts before sharing

Open your eyes isnt offensive in my eyes. We beg to differ.

Perhaps you could have 'opened your eyes' as a moderator and nipped all the offensive things I have been called in the bud such as being called 'a complete and utter dickhead' having members swear at me. The group mentality bullying against me that I simply ignore and rise above and carry on talking racing.

But that isnt your agenda is it Istabraq. Press the ban button if you want, it will make you feel powerful.

But dont bs me by all the ignored abuse I have had on this forum and tell me that me saying 'open your eyes' is offensive.

a)man up and tell us your real agenda
b) do your job properly and fairly or not at all
c) hit the ban button and feel powerful
d) crack on and debate racing

I always opt for option d.

surley charlies post (i think) a few pages ago where he states 'people need to stop looking through rose tinted glasses with this horse' is equally as offensive (ie not at all) as somebody saying ' open your eyes'.

PHP:
I don’t agree with ET about a lot of what he says about the horse but I don’t think anything has been said by anyone including ET in a malicious manner. Probably just healthy racing debate and this is one of the only sports where there isn’t any fence sitting.

Midnight Shadow hardly powered up the hill yesterday ET? He was emptying with each stride??

ET’s posts are fine, often a bit left field and contentious but he’s just passionate and believes in what he preaches which isn’t a bad thing, sometimes he’s right and often wrong but he’s a good read.

Fact is Champ has run once over 3ml1/2f (the distance of the RSA chase) when he won the Grade1 novice hurdle @ Aintree!

Henderson just said the horse is fine and will now go up to 3 miles, phew!! What do people on here think of maybe putting blinkers on champ with what Geraghty saying he was having a good look around coming to the 2nd last? Could be Geraghty making excuses up for his own mistakes I know but think it could be an idea.

Has ET pinched the blinkers meant for champ? :highly_amused:

Did you watch his previous race against keeper hill?....I think even I could out battle midnight shadow up the run in

So you are saying that Champ would have won easily against a horse who is so bad that even you would beat him in a finish. Surely that weakens Champs performance if the rivals were so bad. If his jumping falls apart with such bad horses against him what do you think will happen to his jumping when he tackles the grade 1 monsters?

No, I'm saying midnight shadow would not have won the other day if champ had stood up. It doesn't weaken his performance because he was running away from them and about 3-4 lengths clear when he fell...there's no knowing how far he would have won by, but he would have won and most likely very very easily.

There's no doubting he will have to jump well in the RSA against genuine grade 1 performers and he will be tested, I don't think anyone is disputing that......but he's clearly right towards the top of the list for most likely winner of the RSA based on everything we've seen and the opposition.

I just don’t think you can base your argument on one run behind city island in the ballymore last year? He would have won yesterday end of, I think everyone can see that. We will see come March but I think everyone can say he is definitely short enough atm.

I always opt for option d.

If you always go for option D, what's kind of racing debate does the accusation about an agenda fall under?

If you have an issue regarding fairness or bullying then private message one of the moderators for it to be investigated.

I'd be confident I've read every single post on here since I joined (sad) however I can't always reply in a timely manner. For example, had I seen somer1s comments at the time I'd have nipped it in the bud. What usually happens is I keep reading and things just blow over... point D

:encouragement:

I don't take offence easily and I will ignore much of your post but please avoid personal attacks.
There is not, never has been and never will be any agenda, perhaps we do not do our 'job' particularly efficiently and if offensive posts have been missed then I apologise.
I have other priorities right now so can't focus efforts 24/7 on this forum but the rules around respect will always stand, there is a 'report post' icon for every message which you should use if you feel you've been mentally bullied or abused.

Let's move on...

Well said , this forum has too much class to degenerate into personal “ slagging” matches

Moving on .....
Has anyone bought Bazza a Sat Nav for Xmas ?
