National Hunt Chase (4 miler) 2019

Hi Kev,
So the Warwick race has produced one 2nd place horse in the NHC?

My sentence was....

"Potentially a good pointer towards this race"

the point being, it is a good indicator that he may end up here.

Now, to address the point I didn't make but you've brought up, yes on one 2nd in 4 years, however backing 1 pt e/w on all those runners would have been profitable if you'd placed it at this stage... including a 2 non runners!!!! so NRNB you're in a nice spot!

Another point, is that the 2nd was by a neck... would you feel differently if the neck was the other way around?

Black Hercules went on to win the JLT, that doesn't take anything away from this potentially being a race to watch potential festival winners in.

6 of the last 9 have been won by Irish? What do you want us to do with that information? Do you lay 66% of the British runners? I don't understand the point you're making, unless it's "the Irish have some good horses".... great. So do the British, 1 in 3?

One of the rides I missed on Sunday was GLENLOE in the Follow At The Races On Twitter Novices' Chase at Plumpton on Sunday.
Master Dino would have been very difficult to beat either way, but Glenloe made a few mistakes and got on the backfoot. His jumping will need to improve if he’s to come up to the mark, but that experience should stand to him.

Glenloe got in close to a few and made one bad mistake but there isn't anything fundamentally wrong with his technique.

Added Ok Corral 20/1 e/w with bet365

Can see him being half that price with a good performance at Warwick on Saturday. Hoping/Execting his jumping to be sharper than last time out & he's clearly got loads of stamina. Nice age profile for the race too and should have a top amateur on board.

Derek O’Connor is coming over to ride Ok Corral tomorrow, almost as if he’s getting to know the horse before the 4 miler.......

There goes him riding Jerrysback in this race then!

Reckon you'll be hard to find double figures after tomorrow for him here then

This has given me even more confidence, hopefully by the end of play tomorrow those 33/1 tickets will be looking pretty useful!

What price will he be if beat tomorrow...

Similar to what he is now I expect. A unique race where jockey bookings mean more than form in terms of guiding the price.

Cannot believe the price collapse on Ok Corral.

Yeah I struggled topping up on him, went with WH boosted 13/1 after the price went with both b365 and Betfred. Figured the move would be after the race tomorrow but it's such a clear indication. Nailed on runner/rider

Me too. Disappointed as he's been on my radar for this from day one. Have him at 28/1 but not as much as I thought or indeed would have! Degsy riding is such a big pointer to March. Had to have a bit more on at 12/1.

unbelievable price now, might not even run tomorrow due to ground

It isn't about tomorrow though. They've let their intentions be known by putting DO'C in the saddle and he surely rides at the festival if both horse and jockey make it there in one piece.

Tony Pullis advising bookies these days ? That's as defensive as it gets !

I have gone contrary and added the Tower Bridge NHC/ Ok Coral RSA double. 1325/1 with 365.
