National Hunt Chase (4 miler) 2019

188bet got filled in leaving 16/1 for long enough. Good account to have they're often slow to react.

I have gone contrary and added the Tower Bridge NHC/ Ok Coral RSA double. 1325/1 with 365.

Was looking for another one to add in and Tower Bridge may be that horse. Whichever JP horses end up here they usually have a fair jockey on. 50's with 365 but just 25's NRNB, bit of a difference.

Christ, it's like he already won it in a canter. Oh well there's a few other smart jockeys we can side with.....

I diddnt realise he was that price now.
Crazy with his record of injury. And it being on jockey booking alone.

This could be one of those things like a French bred winning the Grand National - when everyone knows the "best jockeys" the value is probably elsewhere.

Best price on OK Corral now is 8s. I am glad I am on early (11th Nov) at 25s.

Has his work cut out on good ground against Rocky's Treasure.

OK Corral is a definite type for the 4 miler but watching his race LTO, he did jump a little scrappy and looked the type who would appreciate some headgear. Saying that there was absolutely no pace in the race.

Is anyone considering cashing out other JP horses for this race?

Glenloe ams Jerrysback looking much less likely.

I've backed them all with the intention of cashing out when they Glenloe NRNB and we 'knew' the right one .... inclined to wait and see though?

could easily run two, especially glenloe with Codd riding, after his breathing OP

So treble up on them all. Good plan.

More than likely Jerrysback and Glenloe go elsewhere now but makes no sense to cash out before NRNB imo.
Especially as Ok Corral has had his issues in the past so more fragile than most

History for JP runners would suggest (in last 8 years)

NHC : 1 runner (as has been the case 2018-2014, no runners between 2013-2011)
RSA : maybe 1 runner (only had a single runner in 2016, 15, 14, no runners outside of those periods)
Kim Muir : at least 2 runners (2+ runners in 5 of the last 8 runnings)

But obviously that could have no bearing on this year. If i'd have to guess now i'd say:

NHC : Ok Corral
RSA : No runner
Kim Muir : Glenloe + another
Ultima : Jerrysback

But wouldn't surprise me if they had more than 1 in this year for the first time.

Henderson on Ok Corral

He made a very pleasing debut over fences at Plumpton and did what he had to do. This looks the next logical step and we’ve got Derek over to ride him as the plan is the National Hunt Chase. Touch wood Ok Corral has been much easier to train this season which makes my job easier and for a 9-y-o there are still hardly any miles on the clock. There are only four runners, although Rocky’s Treasure has good form and will be hard to beat, but I’m very happy with our horse and expect him to put up a big show.

JP has Tower Bridge to fit in somewhere to, being campaigned over a trip I suspect is too short currently, could well lead to a handicap (Kim Muir?), though needs another run for a mark.

Yeah Tower Bridge will be under 145 for sure. And he's crying out for 3 miles+
Shady Operator another

N.Henderson never won this race. Huge stat to overcome.

Is that really a 'huge stat' for him to overcome though? How many horses with decent chances has he had?

Would you be against a Willie Mullins horse in a Gold Cup just because he's never won it before?
