Mares Novice Hurdle 2019

I've seen bumper winners at much shorter prices in October in the past, for some of the better novice races at the festival.
But the odds are now short enough, even to make the race, to be fair, so I understand some of the comments.
Apart from what I just said, The other negative I'd have about the relegate price is the number of mares Willie has available and the likelihood that Relegate won't be seen till after Xmas, meaning the cash out option might not be too attractive for a long while, if at all.
But you is already ahead of the price.
And one bad race at the end of season Punchestown festival, especially this year, when Gordon and Willie were racing everything that woke up in the morning should not be taken too seriously. If we did then we'd be making some strange bets this year for sure.

1. Relegate is absolutely bred to be a stayer.
2. All the winners of this race had run over hurdles before their summer break.
3. The Fairyhouse race is 2m4f, a G1 and worth more than the Cheltenham race.

It will be interesting to see where Relegate starts out although I get the feeling that it won't be anytime soon. Not physically but in attributes, she reminds me of Augusta Kate (who ran in the AB) rather than Laurina and I'd make her an 'any race' proposition.

Everyone is, of course, entitled to their own view and back it up with their hard earned.

Chante neige 12/1 and colreevy 25/1 with 365 are the 2 for me. I understand alot will think colreevy wants further but I personally think she's a serious horse. Posh Trish has boosted her form and she was cruising when she fell at the last in her ptp. She jumped perfectly well up to that point. With getaway Katie may beaten behind. I genuinely think she'll be a better horse than relegate over an obstacle, can overturn that bumper form and look forward to seeing her out.

Getaway Katie mai held there by an average horse. And tintangle falling. Another reminder that bumper form often dosent hold up. I'd still have high hopes of colreevy being the best of the bumper mares over an obstacle

KMai Looked like she needed further but will also need to jump better. Winners of the Aintree Mares bumper havent been superstars -

Stat of the day.

None of the previous winners of this race has even run in a bumper, let alone won one.

I think trip and conditions wise, Colreevy will be suited to this more than Relegate.

For me, she was at her best on yielding LTO and that hints to being better on a sounder surface. I also noted that i thought she was more outstayed by Getaway KM and Relegate, and 2miles over hurdles might suit her best.

Fayonagh would have given that stat a pretty stern test

Pakora and Pearl Of The West entered in the G3 on Friday.

Relegate

“Looking at her around here, she never impresses. I’d imagine she is going to be a staying novice hurdler. I’d imagine if she is good enough we might aim her at the Grade One mares’ hurdle at Fairyhouse at Easter over two and a half miles.”

Backs up the general consensus. Who is the quote from

Augusta Kate in the Bartlett is an example of how he's prepared to bypass this race with a proper stayer but Easter and the Fairyhouse race is over a month on from Cheltenham so no issues with running in both.
In 2017, (the sainted) Airlie Beach ran at Cheltenham (16/3), Fairyhouse (16/4) and Punchestown (29/4) and Augusta Kate's schedule was similar.

The Willie Mullins trained, J.P. McManus owned Sancta Simona maintained her two race unbeaten record over hurdles at Down Royal as the Barry Geraghty partnered mare landed the Grade 3 Lough Construction EBF (Mares) Novice Hurdle.

The keen going French bred daughter of Saddex followed up her Galway maiden hurdle win last month when today beating Holding Pattern by a length and a quarter.

Afterwards Mullins said “she was still green and hopefully she will improve. We will just try and keep her to the mares' programme.

"She's a fine, big mare and I like her; she's a mare that we have always had time for.

“She was very keen and was doing a lot of racing all the time and never got a chance to settle. I think once she gets a faster pace she might be better and maybe jump better as well

In relation to Cheltenham, he added "she will still have to improve. She's well up to the standard of any good mares' novice that we have had at this time of the season, so I'm very happy with her progress."

Colreevy / relegate entered up. Probably unlikely they'd take each other on. But I'd fancy the chances of colreevy over an obstacle

What trip do you think Colreevy will be best at?

2- 2 1/2 travelled all over posh Trish and getaway Katie mai in her ptp.

Based on coming through PtP and her breeding, I’d say she’d want two and a half sooner rather than later. She looks like she could be a chaser too down the line.

She's head strong enough. Depends if she's settled. And what the owners/ breeders see as a plan.

I would also agree she’s the better prospect out of her and Relegate.
