J.L.T Novices Chase 2019

'They have some lovely horses and I think Lust For Glory has a great chance in the Mares Novice and Lough Derg Spirit in the Close Brothers. River Wylde and Mr Whipped are also on their way back and I’m looking forward to taking them to Aintree all being well.'

That's interesting. We assuming Mr Whipped misses Cheltenham also?

it would appear so on that comment.

This race needs runners. Assuming Topofthegame and Kalashnikov stay in there intended races there is value to be had. My Shortlist would consist of.

Real Steel - 20-1
Camelia De Cotte - 25-1
Champagne Classic - 40-1

It looks like Real Steel will be Mullins runner and he'll be overbet. I'm on 60/1 but don't particularly like the horse.

I'd like to see Champagne Classic here but the 4 miler is more likely. Hardline the most likely runner for Giggi. Mengli Khan doesn't even deserve a run at the festival.

Rumour has it that it could be the other way round. And I am banking on that being correct - at the prices.

If they were mine it would be Hardline Arkle (hood off), Champagne Classic JLT, Mengli Khan local dog track.

Easy back to lay for a free poke - tis my plan anyway :) Single figures on the day!

Mengli khan might go for the grand annual or the plate.. maybe even a handicap hurdle.

Take the 40s now for Champagne Classic as shorter on the exchanges so a matter of time til he’s cut...

Good performance from Pravalaguna today. WPM not sure whether she goes Arkle or JLT but I've always thought 2 miles is on the sharp side. Owners are keen for a Cheltenham runner so I would think likely here rather than take on Cilaos Emery and Le Richebourg in the Arkle. Backed her at 95.0 and 40/1 eachway.

Definitely opportunities to start making a book on this race, something I’m going to work on over the next few days

Trying to work out where Champagne Classic goes potential makes this race. I can't see him go RSA as Delta Work is already there. Hardline going here is the assumption? Or does he have other options? I'd like Champagne Classic wherever he goes tbh, but my preference would be here from watching his first chase run. I think there are a few others that will stay better in the 4 miler (annoyingly, the market principles in that one).

How they judge it is guesswork. Champagne Classic travelled well and blew up after a long lay-off. Hardline was outpaced staying on you can make excuses for the ground his form lines over shorter look good.

I've backed CC 16/1 any race and 40/1 JLT. Hardline 65/1 Arkle (lay'd off 30's) and 33/1 JLT. Haven't covered him for the 4 miler but don't fancy him for that.

Tempted by the 40s e/w

From timeform...
Next month's Cheltenham Festival could now be on the agenda.
"It was a nice performance. The mistake seemed to wake her up and she galloped on away at the end, so she can go two or two-and-a-half (miles). I'd have no trouble going an extra half mile with her again," said Mullins.
"The Arkle is a possibility. I know the connections would like to have a runner at Cheltenham, no more than myself. She's also in the JLT, so both are a possibility.
"We didn't think she would survive her fall in Auteuil (in June 2017). She's made a great recovery and has won her last couple of races now."

With you 100% on CC
If JLT makes it 3 horse race.
Arkle too short
