Cheltenham Gold Cup 2020

Nice round of jumping by LIT

Not worthy of being cut to 8/1 though

Looks Gold Cup material to me. My plan is to wait until he's thumped by BDM at Haydock and hope he drifts to a backable price. :devilish:

I’ve got Vindication at 27/1 in the any race market but realistically that’s only going to be the Gold Cup so a bit of a silly bet really as I can’t see him going Ryanair and that’s the only race other than GC

He might skip chelt and go to aintree for the bowl, or punchestown (right handed). To try and pick one of the big ones up, after the others have had a hard race.

Seems to be the way bailey operates and only my own opinion.

Im amazed by so few comments about Lostintranslation , thought he was brilliant and jumped superb. Its not what he beat but how he did it , a proper horse this lad.

That JLT looking a hot race now with LIT , Raw Steel , Vindication and dare I say it Capeland all running great this weekend.

LIT looks top drawer

Think he's going GC or Ryanair? Reckon he'll end up in latter.

I suppose it's partly due to it being Sunday, and partly because he's beaten Count Meribel by 2L, eased down... but any horse on the Gold Cup market would be beating Count Meribel.

He jumped really well, commentator had a hard on for his jumping.

He's way too short now for me to think about. No evidence yet the novice chasers last year are above the likes of the reigning GC winner and they're the same price.

It was a panic bet by me betting on vindication as I wanted to catch the 25’s before he got cut by Hills in the any race market. I can’t see him winning a gold cup and that’s the only race he will qualify for. I think the Festival would benefit from another grade 1 3mile race along side the gold cup for horses that caught in between

Nothing to do with vinndication... but on your other suggestion.
Theres already handicaps. We dont need a grade 1 to celebrate mediocrity on the biggest stage.

You being serious? I'm assuming not!

Might have to add him then !

At 7/1?

Please don't.

I see you can get 10's :highly_amused: Didn't mean to quote worst price, that's what reading before checking yopurself does.

I felt very Pleased :highly_amused: with myself , I backed him at 10-1 in the shop,.
as he jumped the Last fence, already on at 33-1 too. So that'll do for now.

I think your'e spot on there Scooby. :encouragement:

I’ll just start my cat like retreat as I may have not thought this through but apart from the Gold Cup there is no other grade 1 3 mile race at the Festival. The Ryanair and Brown Advisory are 2 mile 4, the Kim Muir is amateur jockeys. I think the Festival would benefit from a Grade 2 - 3 mile race. It won’t happen but I think it would be a worthy addition for those horses that are just below Gold Cup standard or not quite ready. Can you give me a minute to put my helmet on and grab my shield before you start throwing stones!!

The Ultima is an option for horses that aren't good enough for the Gold Cup. Anyway, another graded 3 mile chase isn't going to happen.

Taxi for The King before the men in white coats take him away forever.

Unless you mention Champange Fever's Arkle or adding another race to the festival :highly_amused:
