Shattered Love will not run in the IGC. Came back with sore shins goes straight to Gold Cup.
 
It's his only chance really and he said Gold Cup from the start.

No wouldn't have thought so Kev. Seemed pretty unequivocal the way he said it. I have cashed out at 16/1 and probably won't be much shorter if there is a change of heart and we are quick anyway.

Only thing would be if the owners wanted differently, but you'd assume that's already been discussed and sorted.

Not that my opinion counts for anything but I do think its a mistake. Just cant see her loving an attritional GC tbh. The trip looked perfect for her last year.

She's 12s NRNB which I might reinvest? Although I don't doubt the target is the target.

Any thoughts on Tout Est Permis today? Thought he was tough over an inadequate trip, particularly after a bad error 6 out. Meade says either here or Ryanair. I would have thought here was the obvious call as long as isn't very soft come the day.

I got the impression he thought because he's young, maybe the Gold Cup would be a year too soon? It was a little bit mixed.

The form isn't really very good, Sub Lieutenant is now 10, and if he matched his best effort he's still a low 160's horse.

You'd expect there to be a mid 160 animal winning a Festival Ryanair/Gold Cup?

For the Gold Cup, 25/1 NRNB doesn't interest me... he'd be going off as Meade's second string anyway, so could likely get that on the day?

Agreed, and whilst times aren't always a surefire pointer, the race was only run 1 sec faster than Camelia de Cotte....off the same weights, she did it with ease, while Tout Est Permis was all out!

I know who i'd have rather backed with a mares allowance yesterday!
