Cheltenham 2020 - Ante post bets

It’s started already....

That’s why vautours ante post book of paisley park multis makes me cringe. Injuries will happen time n again you’re just praying it’s not your big ones that are affected

Agreed - it’s high risk but potentially high reward. All depends on your outlook on risk.

Live by the sword, die by the sword....

It’s a gamble

On a more topical note, I have just exceeded the 100pt mark in cash stakes today with the bet on Klassical Dream @ 6's.

I am quite happy to reveal I have not one multiple laid out as cash, a few in free bets, but I've been pretty disciplined in that respect this time around, despite having a few written down that I have an urge to get on. Kinda glad as a few had Espoir D'Allen in*!

*Given Bet365's delayed response in taking the market down there is every chance I would have been able to cash these out anyway, though still glad I never had to.

Klassical Dream is very short now for the Champion Hurdle; won’t be a lot shorter on the day would he? (Unless there’s no credible opposition at all obviously)

I think he's potentially very good.
But before the race I thought the 2019 supreme was as bad as the previous season in 2018. And they all turned out to be not good enough.
He's had a pretty smooth passage so far and is in the best of hands and will be 6 next year, so a lot of positives make him a worthy favourite at this stage.

There doesn’t look that many challengers at this stage, if he gets there in one piece with a few 1s next to his name I could see him going off pretty short

I've watched the Supreme back again many times now and the thing that impressed me most was how slick he is over hurdles. Add in the sectionals from Simon Rowlands comparing the race to the Champion Hurdle and he is a very worthy favourite. Just hope that Mullins doesn't get tempted by the Arkle?

I can't see why WPM would bother with the Arkle for KD after winning a Supreme like that tbh. Will only be 6 next year, if things don't work out in the Champion Hurdle this coming season then he can have a crack at chasing, but until then I see no reason when you have such a slick hurdler like KD is to be changing discipline.

What was up with Klassical Dream at Cheltenham ?
That weird behaviour before the start and then the head carriage mowing the grass.
I like to see a horse run that way as they tend to look cool and disinterested.
Is it something to do with the bit position ?
Didn't notice it in any of his other races.

He was much more relaxed at Puchestown. So much so that Ruby felt he wasn't too pleased during that race. Willie on the other hand was more pleased...

Ruby said he was too settled and was not as pleased as he was in Cheltenham but I thought in Cheltenham he just ran very free. You can’t keep racing like that and I was much happier with today’s performance, albeit the second horse has been to Cheltenham and Aintree and had two very hard races.

I'm hoping the occasion just maybe got to him. Not that it did him any harm come the race!

IF all goes to plan I can’t see KD’s SP being odds against for any race up to and including the CHurdle.

I'd go with that MS. If he progresses from last season he is going to be very hard to beat.

Reigning Champ hurdler Espoir D'Allen is out for the season

KS you are always very quick with these updates, what’s your secret? That 10 min odd gap before Bet365 know what’s going on is so useful for helping to get an edge, either by cashing out or backing others. I know it was discussed briefly last year and somebody recommended downloading the racing post app but I ended up getting notifications every 15 mins on anything to do with racing. I think I downloaded the wrong thing. Anyway what is the best app or twitter account which posts a small number of posts each day only on big racing news that should include any high profile injury updates?

Should add the ‘Out of the Festival’ thread was super helpful last year but would be even better if I could receive direct timely notifications
