Arkle 2020

Seems as if Tornado Flyer could be Mullins Arkle horse for now anyway - if so given the way it'll cut up 33/1 could perhaps be huge value?
Comments & Entries suggest Melon & Laurina want further with the JLT the obvious although wouldn't be at all surprising to see one end up here come March.

I cant lie i'd fancy laurina in an arkle. I just feel she'd be better over 2m4. But if they want to put her in the arkle, i'd be pretty pleased, as iv pretty much took my swing at the race. And I wouldn't mind her staying away from samcro.

My thoughts exactly

We know that you need a strong staying novice for an Arkle so I think this will be Laurina's race. I would be disappointed if she didn't prove to be better than the Tornado Flyer we saw last week. I know he made that glaring mistake but still, just didn't look like an Arkle winner to me. I would worry that Laurina would be ground down in a JLT

Melon - 25-1 now with B365
Even tempting me.
Tornado also tempting at 33s
But looked a bit ropey last time

Had a good think and whilst I'm happy with arkle bets at the moment.
Lots can still happen.
Melon ew 25-1 is fine.
B365 have gone very big on this for some reason (probably for the mugs:devilish: who've already backed him) and the cashout position.

He ran well enough the other day behind the current favourite of those that have run (giving weight he won't have to give in March).
Come cheltenham I could easily see them reverting here (will depend on who else is around for WP Mullins though)
Only issue is he could go a bigger price when he disapoints next time. But he might run well enough, and this price might be tempting others like me and not last long either.
Every chance that Laurina is very short on the day, the way it's going.

will leave tornado till his next entry.

Do you think B365 know something about Melon we don’t? That’s a very generous price for a horse of his stature and who finished 2nd in his chase debut. I’m going to cash out on Jon Snow and put it on Melon at 25/1 but think it’s too good to be true

Yeah, the bit where Willie has said he'll probably put him out in trip I suspect. 365 have taken that literally and pushed him out for this. Personally I think he needs a trip now, so can't see him being Arkle bound myself.

Fakir shortening all over the shop. 15/2 from 12 with B365. I do think Melon @ 25/1 is very decent with B365 as he is mostly 10-14 elsewhere.

Early days and not one for sweeping statements early but the Arkle is going back to Ireland isn't it.

1. Laurina, 2. Tornado Flyer, 3. Fakir, 4. Notebook

Fakir would be higher up the list if I wasn't concerned he'd be going up in trip. I think he'll be aimed at Arkle until proven not good enough though.

Way too early to be predicting a 1-2-3 but the above are all backed....and it's only fun :)

14/1, 33/1, 25/1, unbacked. Gonna have to get Notebook in the book aren’t I. 25/1 with B365 seems quite fair (wasn’t as shrewd as those who took 50/1 this week). Quite how Al Dancer & Getaway Trump are shorter in the market il never know. One wants further and other doesn’t jump well enough

Had a torrid time of it in the arkle in recent years, just hoping I can turn a good position now into some sort of result come March. Re Fakir, I was a little concerned about going up but the money that’s followed combined with comments from Ruby and KB thinking Arkle makes me rest a little easier. JOB has unfinished business after last year surely

Next entry is supposed to be the Racing Post Novice Chase at Christmas...

Post #673 if you missed it.... I know charlie is a fan of the post :p

It was a lovely post.
But he's not run in it yet.
And he was bang average on his debut.
If you've not watched it, I'd recommend it.
Of the Mullins chasers I've watched so far this season.
Him and Faugheen are both a knuckled on landing waiting to happen.
Like fat kids with skinny legs jumping over privets.

He was no Un De Sceaux on chase debut... but he did still win and at the price he is, history is telling me he's a decent poke this far out (more because of the trainer comments and target)... which ultimately won't be all I'm using when we reach 2020.... but he's a big price and it's not much risk is it?

Despite some issues with Mullins chasers, it's never going to stop me backing them.... and I see Mullins has got rid of that jockey who used to fall off at the last on purpose which can only be a positive.

That's a joke. #IHeartRuby

If Fakir ends up not being good enough for the Arkle we'll know before the festival, but I doubt his price will be bigger than 25/1 ever again for it...

I love Joseph so much. Youngest ever Breeders Cup winning trainer now to go along with (I imagine youngest) Melbourne Cup, Irish Gold Cup (and festival winning trainer?) - he is absolutely incredible, a shame he'll be concentrating more on the flat going forward.

He'd be giving Gordy a whipping when Willie packed up.

Gordon Elliott is the My Tent Or Yours/Melon of Irish training.

I’ll back him I reckon
But will wait till that entry

https://www.attheraces.com/racecard/Warwick/20-November-2019/1410

the novice chase at warwick should be a decent pointer to where the UK novices are at 2 miles.
3 more newbies put to the test, that have potential vs Skelton's that has form with the other lot than ran at cheltenham.
One of these needs to win impressively or it's another nail on the uk 2 milers coffin.

Hopefully Mr Fisher jumps as well as he did in the video I saw.

I’ve backed Mister Fisher, he will be my 12th Arkle bet but at 33’s for this and 50’s for the JLT. I think he’s too a horse to be those prices and maybe the British ‘Notebook’
