Stayers Hurdle 2020

I think the stayers is the plan CNC.

If you have Twitter just drop the McNeil family a tweet, they are very good at replying tbf.

The more I look into today's race the more I think Thistlecrack will cause a surprise today. He loves Newbury and demolished the then Stayers fav Cole Harden in this a few years back before winning in March. He may be 11 but has very few miles on clock. The 6lbs he gets from Paisley looks big to me especially with PP unlikely to thrive on this course which suits the more speedier types like Thistlecrack. Tizzard is in great form.I can see Thistlecrack leading from the off and jumping for fun with Paisley stalking him but unable to peg him back. Backed Paisley for the big one and still think he'll win that powering up that hill again but think he'll find Thistlecrack and the track too sharp today.

I've got a feeling that Paisley Park will look bigger and better this season, and be able to travel more like big Bucks, with the odd wobble or two.
However. that's a massive guess.

Paisley Park was the horse i underestimated most last year and i think price for World Hurdle (Stayers) will go evens after the race!

getting weight and probably a bit flattered, but good to see him run well

That's your Stayers winner right there. Newbury would not be his track and gave weight to a top horse. Very decent performance.

Solid performance first run of the season. Looked a decent pace as well set by the worlds end as well.

Hope they keep Thistlecrack over hurdles, what a monster of a horse.

Job done for Paisley Park. A super run and looked as good as ever. I was hovering over the 16/1 EW for Penhill during the race incase anything unexpected happened but i've just no interest trying to get him beat and EW prices at 1/5 the odds just mean so many prices are unattractive.

Super run from Thistlecrack too. Agree PP had plenty in hand though and the bare result flatters the runner up as good as it was. As I watched it rather than thinking he could be a player in the race, I just thought for all the King George win and debate through that season was great - what a shame it was that he never had a go at racking up a few wins in this race (much like Paisley Park will do from here)

I'd love a generous NRNB price on Thistlecrack for the Stayers. Fallen out of love with him a bit bit just watched his Stayers Hurdle then King George and a lot of happy memories came flying back.

Well campaigned by Tizzard, which is rare. :highly_amused:

Then again, when Thistlecrack gets absolutely walloped in the King George this year, this form won't look half as good :p
Only joking, not crabbing Paisley Park, he just stays the best which is exactly what you want.

Now he's been cut to 7/4 though he's not going to get any more money until NRNB comes in for me. I will want a nice return from him though.

A monster?

He didn't win :highly_amused:

Used to be a monster. Like Faugheen.

I thought Bacardys actually stayed on really nicely today.

Should be better over his correct trip too.... certainly not mugs in behind either. He upheld the form with Apple's Jade and she was expected to run better today and did.

Not a sexy horse but stayed at 16/1 for the Stayers which if fair enough?

Paisley Park 2/1 fav - obviously.
If The Cap Fits 9/1 2nd fav - fair enough, like him.
Benie, Honeysuckle, Laurina - all 10/1 and won't run without an injury to PP.
Bacardys is 16/1 alongside 3 novice chasers that won't run (Champ, Minella Indo, City Island) and Penhill, who he beat today easily and you couldn't back ante post unless you were braver than a lion.
20/1 bar....

16/1 for the 3rd fav? Decent E/W bet for me.

Already on at 40/1, but someone will read this and back him hopefully :highly_amused:

Agree. He looks good Ew value at this stage.

I went through this exact same process yesterday before the Hattons Grace and actually got as far as adding Bacardys to my betslip, before deciding it just wasnt quite big enough.... his runs in the last two renewals haven't been quite good enough to be tempted at 16/1 for me, even though everything you say makes perfect sense.

Only even money a place. Could you really see him winning?
Could easily fall or be unplaced.

He's 16/1, so nearer 9/4 to place (all stake taken into account).

I really like him, I think he looks stronger this season too, I've had him in a free bet, but cash will be played shortly.
