Ryanair 2019

Nico said briefly to Hendo that this would suit Might Bite if he was to bowl along in front, would want to see if they find a root cause of the bleed before chancing him again though but always thought the 3m+ stretched him a tad

Asked about future targets, Henderson said: "Nico (de Boinville) was (thinking about Ryanair Chase), but that was a 30-second discussion down the walkway. He thinks he is better when he is letting him bowl along. He has not quite got his fluency into him the way he did.

"We've got work to do and that's our job. It is worrying and disappointing, but they've come back before and we can do it."

Might Bite wasn’t exactly held up at the back of the pack

Reckon that's probably a decent bet at 12s with PP. First horse near the top of the market to have the target confirmed!

Still, I may take 8s with B365 to change my mind when the final field is clearer

Before the season started I'd have had a max bet e/w on Might Bite in the Ryanair NRNB

I completely agree with Nico that letting him bowl along in front is whats needed! Definitely an angle I've mentioned with him on here more than once. Whether they did that over 2m5f or 3m2f I'd fancy him more than the way he's been ridden recently.

The problem is, 2 bad runs in a row this season, it's putting me off 8/1 NRNB for this race.

I feel like I should be on Politilogue already. I've backed the two horses he's beaten at what I consider very fair prices (Charbel 33s / Min 12s and 18s)

8/1 is skinny enough with his Cheltenham record that people have highlighted, but I do like the horse.

I wonder if Footpads form means that Min goes over 2m again and they step Footpad up

Would depend whether RUby Waslh/Willie Mullins/Owners thought they could win the Ryanair more easily with Footpad than Min.

As of yet, have we seen anything to say Footpad is better than Min?

Would Footpad have a better chance than Min in the Ryanair?

I think they're closely matched, but it's Footpad that needs to get past Min at the moment, not t'other way round would you say?

I think it’s going to be a close call nearer the time based on ground. As a hurdler they always said Footpad needed cut in the ground to be seen at his best. His two runs this season suggest he’s not as effective at the minimum trip over genuine better ground

By contrast, you’d think Min would want the better ground to give him the best chance of getting up the hill

Min diddnt run yesterday as he's being kept to 2 1/2. Footpad did run and ran just fine, just got outstayed when went for home early enough.

I cant see any close call.

"We have Un De Sceaux there and Great Field so we could try and keep this fellow at a longer trip and try and find races for him. It didn't look like he was stopping today"

"Wherever Altior goes, we'll go the other way"

Monalee going to go here? I took 40s for GC but still odds dictating he will go here? 12s stil available or go with 8s NRNB

I think both Monalee & Shattered Love were more likely to end up here prior to today's race anyway, but that was just my opinion and judgement on those two before now. After the race today I'd still be of the same opinion myself.

Thought it was a super performance from Monalee with this race in mind. He settled much better, travels and jumps beautifully. He could be some tool with an aggressive 2m5f ride

My only issue is HDB/connections may be too stubborn in GC ambitions

Hopefully Shattered Love and Disko end up here now and serve it up to Min

Delighted with that from Monalee.

My 14s ticket e/w looks ok now.

No other bet for the race but I’m tempted with Politologue
