RSA Chase 2020

Champ rightly fav and the one to beat
Good luck to all at bigger prices , I only got involved at 10’s

Treble ? Well we all have to

I have to say I’m on BOD at big prices but I have been really impressed with Champ. He looks much more athletic than BOD and I think it’s right to say his pace has won him his races. It will be interesting to see how he copes with a bigger test of stamina from a more all-out stamina testing ride which will favour BOD but at the moment I’m not confident that BOD has the athleticism to beat Champ. I hope he does but won’t be surprised if Champ wins the RSA. I missed the prices on Champ and 3-1 is a crazy price now, so just hoping BOD turns up with his A-game this year.

I was blown away with Champ yesterday, to do that over that trip with everything that went wrong. I going to stick my neck out and say hes the 2021 gold cup winner and ill be seeing what price a firm will give me on the RSA GC double

Carefully selected wins at Fairyhouse .

A strange old race by Carefully Selected. Not the best of jumpers but too classy for those.

Hope the mistake at the second last hasn't caused him an injury. Took 33/1 for the RSA with Coral.

Carefully Selected was far too hesitant over the fences today to be a proper RSA contender.

Always thought it would be a stretch & that run screamed NHC to me. Will need to brush up on his fencing but he has a big engine.

Obviously jumping issues there for CS! Jumped left and guessy, then through a howler in! Class to still win. Some gamble pre race on Off You Go who fell.

Hopefully all ok with CS after that. Thom Malone says there was plenty of work left on CS.

Yeah shades of Killultagh Vic a few years ago FM. Fingers crossed he’s fit & well.

I have only backed Carefully Selected for the R.s.a , F_M , Any view as to whether , the N.h.chs
could be a possibility ??.

I think there's every chance he could end up in NH Chase but couldn't think of an obvious Mullins horse in the RSA at this stage so took the chance.

He'd have a much better chance in the NH Chase though as all he seems to do is stay.

Had a smaller cover bet for him to win any race at 15.3/1

Is Allaho not there RSA horse?

Very surprised to hear you saying he would have a 'much better chance' in the 4 Miler than the RSA on the basis of that one run F_M!

He was easily the most inexperienced horse in the field and that was only his 3rd run over obstacles. I thought it was a tremendous debut personally. Made some mistakes, but jumped well enough at plenty to show he will improve as he goes. There are plenty of horses who wouldnt have recovered from that mistake at a critical time... the RSA is 3 furlongs further and will be run at a faster pace so a much sterner stamina test than today. Off You Go was rated 151 over hurdles and is a very good horse and it also looked like the money was down today.

I think he's still a cracking bet at north of 20's... Looks the perfect grinder type you want for the race.

His jumping was guessing and cautious but it was his debut. Jumped left but that's no worry for Cheltenham. I like a horse to make errors on their debut, as generally that'll teach them more than going round with a clear round and then making the errors upped in class.

Obviously he needs to learn from them.

As for Champ yesterday, I just can't believe his price! Its nothing short of horrific. Won't be far off that price on the day...

I’ll go on record now and say that if he turns up, he will be nearer 6/4 than 4/1. Doesn’t matter if you’re sitting pretty with 10s like a load of us appear to be.

I’m on Carefully Selected at 33/1 for both the RSA & NHC. But I’d agree with FM he has a much better chance of winning the NHC.

Champ and Minella Indo we’re far slicker over the obstacles from what we’ve seen this season. I think he’ll struggle to keep a good racing position in the RSA which is important.

I’ve had a decent bet on Champ tomorrow lads.

On him for the RSA since the early pages of this thread and I expect him to be very short in 24 hours.

I think that debut was very very good.

I actually think after what champ has just done, that 4/1 is a very very fair price. I’d have him 9/4 right now. What beats him?

Just watched the race back and I think his jumping was more than fine for his debut.

Fantastic engine to clear away at the end.

DANNY WHIZZBANG 50/1

Keep a close eye on him in the 12 40 Newbury against Reserve Tank. Needs the run today but will develop into a heavyweight rival come March.

I wasn't talking about the price he was though MoM... obviously if you are on at 10's you are happy.

But he's generally 7-2 in November and for me he will be 2-1 ish on the day. Why would you take the risk over 3 months out for a point or two?

It's November there's still plenty of horses that haven't even contested their beginners or graded races yet. Bit early to say what beats anything in a novice chase lol.
