RSA Chase 2020

I’ll go on record now and say that if he turns up, he will be nearer 6/4 than 4/1. Doesn’t matter if you’re sitting pretty with 10s like a load of us appear to be.

Depends on the irish challenge really moM, I think they'd all have to look bad at some stage for this to happen.
In Denman's days the Irish challenge was not as strong.
Even if he is short, it'll mean that there's some likely irish horses at prices.

I thought there were a lot of positives for champ yesterday, but what he beat is slightly up in the air, and I'd rather he travelled and coasted to the line to be the price he is. Whatever the qualities he showed, it was frantic.

But I've always liked him and was hovering over the Gold cup yesterday with 365, didn't bother with it as he looked ordinary after 2 out.
And they cut it after to 33-1 when he surged past. ???
can't see gold cup now as he didn't win classy enough.

It's November there's still plenty of horses that haven't even contested their beginners or graded races yet. Bit early to say what beats anything in a novice chase lol.

Was literally just about to type the same thing!

The likes of Carefully Selected, Minella Indo, Allaho, Next Destination all have the potential to be top class. Its very early days....

I just think he’s massively above an average novice chaser. I agree with Jono about wanting a price for the 2021 Gold Cup. I think he’s that good.

I don’t tend to get carried away with novice chasers but I thought he was superb on his chasing debut. And I thought he was even better yesterday against a couple of very decent horses. If he sorts his jumping out for even 10% improvement there, I don’t think there’s many that will have the engine to stay with him when he turns in on the absolute snaff!

People thought this last year as well though.

He has a lovely engine no doubt. Price is a massive problem and there are plenty of horses to show what they're capable of yet.

Its all about price for me though MoM. Nobody can deny he's an exciting horse and quite clearly a top prospect. But its still very early days and the only time he's met a top notcher he was beaten fair and square.

City Island is another who could make up into a very exciting novice chaser who I forgot to mention. Champ has to prove he can beat him for a start!

Very nice performance from DW.

Could be a very deep RSA this year.

DANNY WHIZZBANG 50/1

Keep a close eye on him in the 12 40 Newbury against Reserve Tank. Needs the run today but will develop into a heavyweight rival come March.

Has the build of Denman and one of the most natural jumpera of a fence I have ever seen from a chase debutant.

Watcb this Tank develop before your eyes into the RSA winner and a future gold cup winner.

Be afraid Champ
Be very afraid

backed it today and tried to get on with sky but suspended market.
would have git big prices if this had been priced up, tut tut

DANNY 'The Devestator' WHIZZBANG will be taking 4 lengths out of CHUMP at every fence come March.

Absolute Machine. Has it all.

The complete package

Half a package cannot compete

Not like you to get carried away.

I Bet you used to stalk Jan Leeming ?

Think I said it at the time, but that random gamble just before season started on Reserve Tank for the JLT is looking worse by the day.
So much banking on him being a spring horse now.
Whatever that means after one season's evidence.

"He is a lightly raced, scopey type who is unbeaten in three starts and was always going to be a chaser. He created quite an impression on his second run for us when thumping a good field at Exeter. He has done very well over the summer but came back into training later than most of ours after having a wind op, so whatever he does in this I'm sure he will come a fair bit for the run."

This is a superstar we just witnessed for the first time today.

I think this is going to be a truely special chaser.

Dazzling Danny now into as low as 14/1 for the RSA from 50 this morning. Even at 14/1 he still looks value and the improvement to come will be big.
Probably similar to Presenting Percy in the way he looks as physically developed this early in his career so may be the type who peaks as a novice and doesnt develop as much 2nd season but in terms of the RSA this season I doubt anything will be able to handle him.

Given he was 50/1 with it all to prove, 25/1 after lowering a Grade 1 winner is fair enough.
The 25/1 available with 365 is worth highlighting for the majority though, especially with the reduced risk.

Absolutely!

No price to find out, might end up in the Stayers Hurdle now anyway.

Nicholls states 'DAZZLING' DANNY WHIZBANG is likely to go to Kauto Star Trophy at Kempton next.

How many horses get tried in a grade 2 on their chase debut and win?

I cant think of any. Kauto Star, Denman, Sprinter Sacre all made their uk chase debuts in novice company.

An outstanding performance. He will come on a tonne for fitness and another tonne for that experience. He already looks the festival banker and should be favourite. I expect he will be favourite come the day.

When you get thrown into the deep end and end up swimming comfortably on your 1st ever chase run then you have to be special.

Question for the Champ fans...

Are you convinced he'll stay 3m at Cheltenham well?

Seemed to sprint away yesterday rather than outstay them, and looking back at the Sefton at Aintree, they crawled and were all on the bridle at top of the home straight - wouldn't have been a true 3m test.

Yes id be absolutely shocked if he was beaten for not staying. His jumping is the only worry id have.
