RSA Chase 2020

As someone pointed out a few pages back, Next Destination's form doesn't look that good anymore... with the setbacks he's had/having I can't see him being an ante post horse for a good-long while now, if ever again.

Minella Indo
6g Beat Hollow - Carrigeen Lily
Barry Maloney
13/321-1
RPR 156h OR 152h
We’re looking forward to seeing him over fences. He’ll start at the end of November – he takes plenty of work so might need a run or two to get him going. He’s a very tough horse and it was fantastic to see him back up his Albert Bartlett win when he also landed a Grade 1 at Punchestown. He seems in really good form.

From the stable tour 30th October.

He didn’t see a racecourse until 29th of December last season. I’d imagine HdB will follow a similar prep over fences.

Good point

Can’t wait to see BOD. Want to see him win this on the staff

I’m not a fan tbh Charlie. I’d fancy Ex Patriot to cause BOD some trouble.

I can see Champagne Classic & BOD swapping festival targets.

I can see him being a marmite horse tbh. Got CC @ 27/1 any race & BOD 20/1 any race

It’s just a hunch based on what I’ve seen so far Charlie but BOD could easily prove me wrong & be the type to just do enough. I think Champagne Classic has definitely exceeded expectations this far.

I’m split between Carefully Selected & Minella Indo having missed (dismissed) the boat on Champ. I reckon CS is tailor made for NHC but if the RSA was a proper test he can make an impact!

Completely agree re CC definitely exceeded expectations. Just do enough or blow them away? :p

All over carefully selected for NHC. Ruby said he was class and forgotten

The Florida Pearl has historically been a route to the NHC for Gordon from my memory! I’d like to see Battleoverdoyen off the bridle tomorrow to know what he’s got in the locker.

From the RP ‘what do don cossack, presenting Percy, shattered love, blow by blow and very wood all have in common? All suffered defeat in the Florida Pearl’

Don’t get me wrong, I’d be very disappointed if BOD didn’t win, but barring a woeful performance it’s premature to draw lines through horses in November for races in March. The above quote proves that

He was off it 1st time up, against nothing.

He should be winning this with ease if he's getting anywhere near the places in the RSA

Totally agree. Although I have BOD included in some bets, he should indeed win this comfortably as the field is average at best. He’s also had the benefit of a run so no fitness excuses.

I think BOD is a quality horse but he does look big and I can imagine he is hard to get fit. This is not my area of expertise at all but he looks like he needs racing to get him fit. I think he can look one paced but I think that is offset by his large stride. I am on him for the RSA and would expect him to win today.

Bit like Presenting Percy :p

IF he wins this easily, and I dont know if he will, with imo his debut being so bang average. But he surely will if hes anywhere near what the general consensus is.

All he would be beating is the leftovers of brahma bull. I dont know anyone who fancies brahma bull for the RSA. But would be an improvement from debut anyhow.

I really dislike what battlover doyen did in front last time, so even in this company the end of the race will be somewhat interesting for me.

I assume you mean the form not the performance? Let’s see what happens today.

Yeh I reckon so. Loads of time to get him ready for Cheltenham
