Punchestown 2019

Congratulations Archie, another brilliant performance.

Well done Archie! Great race that, Kemboy was all class. ABP really has some engine to be there at the business end the way he jumps. Everytime he has a poor jump I think that will be him off the bridle but he soon gets back on it. Great couple of horses

Well done Archie.

Ruby brilliant today on the horse.

nothing left for him to do that was going to add much to the totally of his earlier achievements.

Only managed to catch a bit of the race on my phone (damn work!)

Was Carefully Selected just outpaced? Really positive performance regardless, potential for the 4miler aswell?

Well done Archie, another fantastic performance by Kemboy.
I’m having a beast at Punchestown so far, picking the wrong favourites!! I’m going to have to give tomorrow a miss unless there are a shedload of goals in the Barcelona vs Liverpool match to bail me out

Who do you think will replace Ruby? It’s a long shot but how about Jaime Codd turning pro and becoming his number 1??

Townend has been sat waiting for a couple of years and just won top jockey in Ireland so would say it’s pretty cut and dry

The Irish champion jockey will be no1.
The Mullins boys will move up a step now too.

Ruby the greatest ever but still some high class talent riding in that yard

Message recieved and finally understood Mayo !!:highly_amused:.

Lord forgive me.

Glad he got out in one piece but will miss the grumpy genius.

A thought. McCoy describing Ruby as the Messi of jumps means we are meant to think of AP as Ronaldo. To this I say no.

Also AP did not say Ruby was greatest ever. The greatest he ever saw or rode against would not include himself.:highly_amused:

Ego goes with the territory.

Ruby has 59 Cheltenham Festival wins and 213 G1 wins. AP 31 and 88?. In the races that mattered Ruby was the man.

I am getting fed up backing losers so DDS all in today. Will come back for Galway if I lose.

which i might if this guy is right :heart-borken:

6:40pm: Ryanair Novice Chase

Arguably the race of the week. Duc Des Genievres surprised me in winning the Arkle. It was probably a below par renewal. He did run away with it though. Defi Du Seuil's JLT win was more predictable. His duels with Lostintranslation this season, have been a joy to watch. I don't think the drop in will inconvenience. Defi would be my choice of the two.

Not my choice in the race though. An exceptional talent may explode on the racing scene tomorrow. Chacun Pour Soi put up a spellbinding performance, on chase debut at Nass. Backed as if defeat was out of the question, he just blitzed the opposition. It was hard not to be reminded of Douvan. His jumping was that good. It wasn't much of a race, though the third has won since. I'm going to trust my eyes. It will be some effort to overcome the two at the head of the betting. This looks like some horse.

Selection: Chacun Pour Soi 4/1

If Altior doesn’t run.. there’s your 2020 Champion Chase winner. 8/1 you say?

Breaken looks another decent horse for mullins and if he can settle better with the hood then i think he will take some stopping (cue Annamix trouncing them all)

Wow, that's an amazing total of g1s compared to ap, any idea how many Barry Geraghty has won in his career?
