Punchestown 2019

If Getabird wins or go close I wonder if he could be an outsider for the King George?

It’s been a long time since any of the decent Irish horses came over for the King George from memory, non have turned up for the past 3 runnings even though they tend to feature in the Antepost betting and I can’t see any coming over this year, they tend to run in the Leopardstown meeting on 27th instead and saved for Cheltenham after that unfortunately. Likewise very few of the British horses go over to Ireland to compete in their Grade 1 & 2’s which is also disappointing

The last one was Vautour so could be a pro as a fellow Ricci horse

Coud well be...

I'd take a wild price on the chance now...

See if you can get it priced up.

If he runs and runs well it might mean he gets entered up at a woefully short price?

Hope you're right though, a good left-field selection.

Nothing standing out for me on tomorrows card, but I've placed a double anyway for interest.

3.40 - Youcannotbeserious 2/1
No points for originality, but Derek O'Connor has made a 'late' switch to ride this horse not seen since 2017, he's made simialr high profile 'late switches' to my mind (Minella Rocco, Any Second Now) and it's good enough for me considering Enda Bolger has a stupid record in the race too.

5.30 - Un De Sceaux 11/4
Obviously has Min to beatbut beat Douvan in this race last year when second string and Min can't be fully trusted. He's been beaten at Cheltenham and by Simply Ned this season, so taking odds on about him would be too dangerous. I've been quite vocal about Min being better over further now too, so back at 2 miles I'm hoping he gets beaten, albeit I won't be shocked if he wins, but at odds on, not for me.

WH offering the following :

25/1 with skybet, about half what I was hoping for

3:40 – Youcannotbeserious @ 5/2

On jockey bookings, I expected he’d be the favourite of the two McManus hordes but the overnight money makes him now 5/4 favourite. Pleased with my position on the race.

4:20 – Klassical Dream (NAP @ 4/5)

I’ve had a lump on the favourite here. I just think he’s a bit special. The way he won that supreme was nothing short of sensational.

4:55 – Sancta Simona @ 9/1

Backed SS here as I thought 9/1 with Hills was a very decent each way bet. I think she’ll go very well off her mark and hasn’t been disgraced in good grades races all year.

5:30 – Min @ 8/13

More one for multiples, Min ought to win here. Done a decent double with KD.

6:05 – Son of Camas @ 10/3

Had heard a word for this horse. Had a small play at 10/3 last night before the money came. Into 2s now. Wide open race though.

6:40 – Delta Work @ 7/4

Sided with Delta over APT but only because Delta has been very consistent this season whereas APT has just had one great run. Prices are probably slightly too tight between the pair. I’d make it 6/4 and 11/4 rather than 7/4 and 9/4.

7:15 – Farceur Du Large @ 9/2

I backed this one because I’m stubborn. I was on this at Limerick in its debut and couldn’t believe my luck. Boxed in all the way round and as soon as a gap came, something else filled it up. At 9/2, he was worth a play. He’s shortened a bit now but that’s probably because it looks a weak looking renewal more than anything else.

Good luck all
