Marsh Novices Chase 2020 (was JLT)

I know, but you will double your winnings if you stop splitting stakes and just back for the Arkle :)

Haha, no such thing as splitting stakes with 365. If there was more risk I'd perhaps have plumped for one or the other.

I think Laurina and Melon are Arkle/JLT bound for now... so where TF slots in isn't easy.

They may well end up avoiding Samcro too, which might lead me down an almost related double at some point.

Somebody said before about Laurina avoiding Samcro... but they'd be fine to have a crack with Melon like that did when they both fell at Punchestown a couple of seasons back.

Laurina (Arkle) / Samcro (JLT) 71/1

I dont see any way that they can rate him 145 or less surely that was a 150 plus performance, the 25/1 any race looks a very nice bet to me, he's not far away from the level needed to win a JLT for me on that today. If he runs in the Dipper next then that will give us a much better idea of the level hes at.

Been given 153

Exactly how I see it Kev. Have Laurina (Arkle) & Samcro (JLT) in a few crossed multiples already but may well add just the double at larger stakes.

They would avoid Samcro wouldn't they as well.
I'm typing myself into thinking that's a decent double, even this far out

I would want to. And I genuinely feel that many in the game in Ireland still believe Samcro to be a bit special.

Even this far out the easiest looking realistic Grade 1 novice chase at the festival would be the Arkle, and Laurina is Jared's best horse, I think the idea of being a two mile champion hurdle horse has long gone and she will be put in the race which gives her the best possible chance, the Arkle, for me.

Mister Fisher declared over 2m at Warwick in a race that contains two other debutantes (Lisp and Torpillo) who bring decent enough hurdles form to the table.

Be a good test for Windsor Avenue if he and Champ both go for the Dipper, would be a slight worry that they may go up in trip for the RSA but hes shaped with plenty of pace both runs this season. 25/1 still a nice price in what could turn into a pretty open race

Just read article on Racing Post.
Has a horse ever ran in an arkle then come back to win the JLT ?
I reckon not.
Slate House at 25-1 is worth looking at.
I have plenty already but he is if interest. if B365 were 25's I probably would.
Should imagine he'll run at cheltenham again in December in the Handicap. If he were to win off 147 then it would put him right in the frame for this. I think most people thought he would have won last week.
He would be nicely experienced and battle hardened and will have ran at championship pace.
A lot of the other contenders will have plodded round in their prep runs.

Hcapper certainly thought he was going to win on sat, seen earlier he's raised him 6lb (same as the winner)

No chance Laurina goes Arkle. JLT all day long. Head to head with Samcro. That's what we all want yeah ?

Do you have a Direct Line to WPM Lobos ?
It’s not a question of what we all want it’s a question of what owners and trainers want .
In one breathe you’re saying Altior shouldn’t go up in trip , well a lot of people want to see that also.
Time will tell but if you never try.......
Just like an 18year Welshman starring for ....Bristol

Didn't he do well last night. We have a rediculous amount of midfield talent at the moment even internationals need to be loaned out to the lower leagues !

Hope we see Laurina vs Minella Indo at weekend now.

I see David Jennings put forward City Island for the Arkle in his RP Antepost Video Blog this week.

Don’t get it at all really apart from the weak Arkle market angle. Raya Time & Dallas Des Pictons has him under pressure in a fast run 2m around Leopardsown last Christmas. It’s was the only time the horse looked to be struggling with the pace of a race bar his Punchestown Festival flop where he was clearly overcooked.

JLT is surely his trip can’t see him dropping back regardless of the strength of the Arkle market.
