Mares Hurdle 2020

She probably wont, but she could go for the stayers with a winning chance. You never know something might happen to paisley park, and she'd be around an even money shot.

Much more chance Benie going Stayers with Honey smashing Mullins Bacardys out of sight. At least he has some sort of stable line on how good Honey is now. Don't forget Benie has already won a Mares and skipping Honey and taking on Paisley with her allowance might be more appealing. A Mares and a Stayers on her breeding CV would look rather nice.

Youd have to be pretty sure they rate BDD well above bacardys . But anyhow one of the 2 will probably win the Mares. And I wont be on either.

Don't think you can measure today using Bacardys - he's never been the most reliable and is a shoddy jumper at best. I think he was overrated because he beat Apples Jade the last day - but let's face it - AJ is not the horse she was. I think BDD would beat Bacardys hollow on any given day. Had the look of a Mullins sighter today for my money. BDD has the course form and beat the best of the French in their own back yard last season. Honeysuckle is an exciting mare - but for me it's still early days. let's hope she makes it there this year.

Honeysuckle has never ran left handed either, not a massive negative but when shes as short as she is, you'd want to see it.

Anyway I hope they grow a pair and go for the champion, and BDD for that matter.

Sounds like the plan is to just give her a rest and then have one prep race before running in Mares. I'm happy with that.

You'd like to think they'd have to run her in the irish champion hurdle at the Dublin racing festival. Would be silly not to, knowing you can go back to the mares if your beaten.

Does anyone know if Honey would be qualified to run in the Boyne Hurdle. Navan, left handed, 2m 5f and fits perfectly timing wise if she is to have just the one more run before Fez

Can't see it. No point sending her round the other way first time and against the top 2 milers when the plan is Mares surely?

Would be common sense, if you really want to find out if she's a realistic chance of being s CH winner, nothing to lose with the mares as a fall back, And wouldnt be worth the multiple entry fees otherwise

"She looks like a chaser. We only kept her over hurdles because she's five. The Mares' Hurdle is still the number one target but the Champion Hurdle will have to come into discussions."

Yep, makes sense then in view of that comment. Was that after today's race?

Yes sir..

Then yes. Good timing, left handed and if she won taking on the top 2 milers then the Churdle would have to be seriously considered. De Bromhead did say today that Mares is high on the agenda and if that is the plan then I doubt they'd drop in distance in such a high profile race just to give her experience left handed which is why I asked the question re the Boyne Hurdle. Can grade 1 winners run in that race ?

Weights - 5-y-o 11st 1lb; 6-y-o and up 11st 3lb; Mares allowed 7lb
Penalties - (handicaps excluded) to count from 1st August, 2017 Winner of three hurdle races or of a Grade 3 hurdle race 3lb extra; Of two Grade 3 hurdle races or of a Grade 2 hurdle race 5lb extra; Of a Grade 1 hurdle race 7lb extra;

She could run, but it wouldn't be very favourable for her. Given the 2m hurdles currently, she'd be better off going there i'd say.

Interesting. Just keeping their options open I suppose. Got to be temped. With her mares allowance she'll be bang there on ratings.

Thanks. Boyne sounds great option. Can't have her in Churdle. Shed get beat I reckon. Outpaced and probably jumps too big for me. Only ran over 2 miles once and for me that was her least impressive performance. 2 1/2 is perfect for her and the Mares is where she'll end up. Leave the Churdle to Saldier.

Should Saldier be out of Churdle and KD run poorly again then I reckon Eptante, Honey and Benie will switch to Champion. Better back Rosanna for Mares !
