well done B.O.F , you must be well pleased , I had a small bet too .

Hell of a run BOF, one very proud owner I trust.
Interesting to know what your heart rate was rounding the turn...

Great effort. Also had a small(ish) each way bet. Very well done

Excellent run from BoF there. Well done.

Must have been a heart in mouth moment turning in.

Well done and thank you for sharing. Inspirational stuff relatively speaking BoF! Keep the blog coming its always a great read

Another great write up BoF :encouragement:

Has Aintree ever been on the radar? I'm thinking the Beecher chase, rather than the national.

Funny you should ask Faugheen. Immediately after the race Peter mentioned Aintree but then quickly decided his jumping style may not be best suited to the course (he is careful and give the fences a fair of air, for the most part) Of course, that can all change. There are a few races in England that could suit him but I think we may just need to target one as I would be reluctant to have him traveling too often - he likes his routine.

Good luck whichever route you go down, and have a safe journey back to the States.

Oh, and keep us updated :encouragement:

BOF clearly has a versatile horse when on a going day, and it's noticeable that the 'non going' days coincide when not partnered by Sexton, something connections are well aware of.
Geraghty, Russell and Kennedy are amongst the top pilots in the game but it's Sexton who gets this one running.

As for his future target there are plenty of valuable handicap chases in Ireland I'm sure they'll take a look at, I'm not as knowledgeable on the Irish calendar as I used to be, but over here a rating of 138 would earn him around 10st in the Hennessy and having just given some serious Irish horses a beating at Listowel his versatility could see him run well.

I'm sure they'll let the dust settle for a while, a race like yesterdays can take some recovery time especially coming so early in the season...

Well done Paul.

Really random stat. The last two horses finishing third in the Kerry National went to Aintree later in the season. ;) (finishing 1 and 5)

Good luck BoF and Archie - what a nice pot that is!

Thanks FM. It's the last chance saloon for my guy; if he gets stressed with the travelling and he runs poorly because the ulcers have come back in record quick time (like they have done before) that will be it. It will be a great shame because he has ability but I am not prepared to have him in pain running around a racecourse. We will find a nice 'after racing' career for him and make sure he is happy. We are doing a few things to try and prevent the stress but I am not sure we can mitigate it entirely. That being said, we had to go back for this race after how he ran last year and, clutching at straws, his form in September and October has always been good. He is in fantastic shape right now and if the race was run around the Curragh I would be pretty confident.
