J.L.T Novices Chase 2019

Getabird

The fact that Ruby is thinking about going to Limerick to ride him in the Grade 1 on Wednesday tells you all you need to know.

Looking forward to this race. Im interested in seeing Hardline put it up to Getabird.

Donoghue riding Hardline isn't filling me with much Christmas cheer. I think its a watching brief for me. I might have a nibble on Jetz??

Boom Hardline. Not looking like a mug now:triumphant:

Deciding against Jetz then?

I think Getabird would have beaten him without making a mess of the last but he's shown a nice level of form there for you Doc.

Will the bookies go over board?

Getabird wins if not for that mistake at the last, but another nice boost for VDR through Hardline. Hopefully Cilaos Emery will win well and be the main Arkle contender for the yard so VDR can come here now.

Had a small bet on Jetz which proved to be poor judgement. I have some nice "any race" tickets on Hardline. I really like him.
More Christmas cheer for me with Waiting Patiently. :triumphant:

Cheering because a horse is almost brought down?

Hope you reap the rewards that being such a prick deserves.

Yes, your skill and judgement in laying Waiting Paitently has once again been proven with the result today.

You should have your own tv show.

Every result pleases someone. Nothing to do with whether the horse was brought down. You run that risk when you sit out the back. Im sure the posts would have been flying had WP won......

Nope, don't rate WP myself, but can't be cheering any horse coming down.

Think he's been told off enough now.

Poor form Tim. Whether you're talking through your pocket or not. I didn't want the horse to be brought down, but thats racing. I'd much rather he got beat on merit. At least we'd have closure on some of this deluded nonsense. Its a game of hard knocks and not a game for snowflakes.

Poor form, lol... That's rich, coming from you :highly_amused:

Snowflakes? You'll be alright, cupcake.

I think I’m the only one (if not one of the few) who has held out some hope on Lostintranslation for this race. After the performance of La Bague Au Roi today, his debut defeat to her is not bad at all and he was in the mix against her before falling in their second meeting. It was mooted that Lostintranslation was heading towards The Dipper so Tizzard is still keeping the faith and aiming high with him. I still think he’ll improve throughout the season like last year as well, given his inexperience.

If he can improve on his jumping and eliminate those errors I see no reason why he can't be up involved, the form with La Bague is certainly holding out well at the moment!

Is it horses like La Bague Au Roi that cause him to make those jumping errors?

He can probably pop around nicely when schooling, but jumping at pace is often the key factor in novice chases.... that'd be my worry with him. I wouldn't take for granted he'll improve the jumping when he's next tested.
