Fat Jockey - Day Two Festival Yankee - Captain is bobbyvalentino

Alright lads, I’ve got them all pencilled in apart from the Bumper.

I was getting ready to put in Get In The Que as something potentially out the ordinary, but unfortunately Harry Fry ruled him out this morning.

I’ve got it down to Meticulous and Blue Sari

Meticulous is probably the one purely on value grounds, coming out well from the deepest Bumper this year and connections seem confident of an improved performance this time. Although you have to go back quite a way and need a pretty good excuse to back a last time out loser in the Bumper. Given Envoi Allen was taken 4 lengths wide the whole way I’m just wondering if there are valid reasons to think it can be turned around. Blue Sari, although he beat nothing, did it in incredible style and has proven himself on the likely going. I know 4 year olds don’t have a great record in a brutal, bashy race, but this could be the smallest ever field so there’s a good chance that won’t hold true.

Final chance to get your arguments forward on the Bumper selection!

Meticulous.

Willie saying Blue Sari doesn't show much at home in his work is putting me off him. I appreciate that it's better for horses to 'do it on the track' ... but he's the 4/1 fav and you KNOW he isn't the best Willie has at home, just too much of a leap of faith to think one of his average work horses is good enough to win the Bumper as fav.

Patrick likes Blue Sari but the price is gone.

I'm sure he does, or he'd be sitting at home

When Patrick rides out Blue Sari,
it must be like walking round Amsterdam red light district with your wife or girlfriend.

Ok, considering I run a democratic yankee...

The Final Selection - An All Irish Yankee

Ballymore Novice Hurdle: Battleoverdoyden - the Gigginstown first string, unbeaten over obstacles, incredibly strong vibes. Cut in the ground is going to be able to allow him to get his toe in and to be honest it's to his real credit this future chaser has performed so well to date.

RSA Chase: Delta Work - I've had this down as a match between Santini and Delta Work. Santini has had far from an ideal prep and there's a lot of presumptions in his expected improvement at Cheltenham. Delta Work has proven course form, will handle the ground, tactically versatile, and has the master of Cheltenham fences on board. Banker material.

Coral Cup: Whiskey Sour. Ran a cracking race as a novice (terrible record) in the County last year to finish third in conditions that would have been heavier than ideal, and was left with a lot to do after the last. I think he's been laid out for a crack at this since the autumn and the markets suggest this is where he will run, getting in near the bottom of the weights. Take NRNB if you disagree

Bumper: Meticulous - the people have spoken, and this is their horse

---------------------------

Super Yankee Bonus Ball

Fred Winter: Lethal Steps - we may be looking at the wrong end of the market, but then again, if somebody is going to bust the big price trend I'd have my money on Gordon Elliot. A Plotty McPlotjob, 102 flat-rated, a nice weight. For those who dare..........

Would you not wait until tomorrow before adding a horse that could or could not run....

We can extend to tomorrow if you like.... we'll know by midday won't we....

If Whiskey Sour is not declared tomorrow morning, it was a close call with Cracking Smart for me, so that would be next best.

Final decision after decs and I'll update the main post, thanks :)
