Queen Mother Champion Chase 2019

What was said about Footpad in the RP?

He's very good and all roads lead to the Paddy's REwards Club Sugar Paddy Chase at Leop on Thurs. He has schooled very nicely since Naas

Wow, what do we make of that folks?

Last years novice's aren't up to the grade, and Footpad was hugely flattered in the Arkle.

Footpad hasn't proven he's better than Min yet.

Sceau royal form. :highly_amused:

I still maintain SR is a very good horse on decent ground.

Think Willie will be relatively pleased with that from Footpad.

The potential for this division to be thrilling has gone there.

Altior is head and shoulders above, which is exciting in a different way.

I wanted Footpad to be up to the grade to give him a race, but he's not.

What a superb horse Altior is.

Bulletproof.

RTV saying 8/21 for King George.

Anyone know where?

I'll back that

The best about.
Getting very close to SS now

It's interesting (also pointless), that the ratings have SS at his best absolutely miles clear of anything Altior's done.

I imagine I'll go to the grave with the opinion that:- in the hypothetical match race, with both at their peak, Sprinter Sacre would beat Altior.

The 'problem' Altior has, is to post a ridiculous rating, he'd have needed Sprinter Sacre racing for him to chase down up the hill.

What a sight that'd be

Stunning horse. Would love if they sent him to the King George if he wins the CC again.

I thought Footpad ran well today. Jumped superbly in the main and was just found wanting on that Leopardstown run in. It's not unknown for strange results to occur in this race - Vautour was upset there and of course Min was nearly caught last year - and they both ran much better at the Festival. On the basis that you can't run away from one horse, I should think he's a good eachway price for this now. Race could cut up, anything could happen to the fav between now and March and he's a great chance of making the three.

I've got obvious bias, but I agree. Sprinter at his best would win.
