Cheltenham Handicap Shortlists

Are you on Glenloe Scooby?

Nope ...

Backed tower bridge and Carter McKay. Both nrnb.

And gun digger any race.

And have bloody blow by blow any race from start of the season .

no mention of gun digger either,
someone must have asked. that's a definite handicap blot for me.
likely hose up in the brown advisory, possibly the close bros

:encouragement:

It'll be interesting to see if Carter McKay shows any improvement this weekend.

I don't want either to particularly. Both in the same race. quiet enough round the back to qualify and save it for the big day will do me..

He's a good horse. You don't have to be a superstar to win the Kim Muir. He's been running over the wrong trip and will again at the weekend.

Light weight, correct trip. More prominent . ....

Exactly the Same for tower bridge

yep, just had a closer look at his form, but not convinced, although i see it a little more than i did before.

Tower bridge i get. Just not as sold on joseph with these type of plots, but he's probably fine and done it plenty of times outside cheltenham in handicaps.

The only other one I had on my shortlist was shady operator.

And magic saint of Paul's but he's not a cert runner atm.

Can't have Carter McKay, think he's been overplayed all his career and just dislike him as a race horse.

Think he's just not that good.

Why would he keep it quiet when he's fav?

Rose tinted glasses.

I'd hope it was clear my post was made with a fair amount of jest...but yes there are rose tinted glasses now considering the fine lime he has in gaining entry.

But if Glenloe has rose tinted glasses...You must have some daily big ones on Carter McKay :devilish::p

And if you look through the tweets there were more.mentions on Glenloe than any over horse. By a fair amount. Clearly he didn't want to talk about him. Make of that what you will...

That would be poli roi.
Who also wouldn't shock me if he went to the Kim muir and won. But he's just not a likeable horse imo.

Rockpoint fans might be interested in his pertemps entry.

Asked Rory Delarghy on twitter and got this response

So on that basis they have until the 24th to get the run into him

Maybe they're unsure if he does make it there or not. So dosent want to say either way.

Carter McKay/ gun digger with codd on board would be very short.

O Connor on tower bridge would likely be fav imo.

Aslong as Sheik fahad dosent take the ride. Carter McKay will have a solid chance at this level.

The I reckon bit casts a bit of doubt.
but thanks for that jono

just a prep run. you know more than most he don't like handicaps.
However it would be just the sort of perverse thing for the armidillo posse

There's only 1 confirmed race left available for Glenloe between now and the 24th in Ireland:

Fairyhouse - Saturday 23rd February
17.5F Beginners Steeplechase 5yo and up

Am I right in thinking entries for this are out tomorrow? If not Monday?

In the UK there could be 3 races he could line up that weekend if push came to shove:

Kempton - Sat 23rd Feb
2m4 Novice Chase

Chepstow - Sat 23rd
2m7 Novice Chase

Fontwell - Sun 24th
2m1 Novice Chase

And that's on the basis he has until that 23rd/24th weekend

Very disappointing re Gordon’s comment on Storyteller.... surely a mistake not to have entered him over here a while back
