Percy and Elegant Escape have won over further. ABP doesn't need to prove it. Santini looks like he will be not proven. Which for most others may also be true

ABP had never ran over 3m2 before winning it last year either...

Not a view I get.
BDM made a mistake and Santini went past him, 50 yards later BDM was back in front and stayed there as Santini met both the next and last fence on a wrong stride yet powered away for a comfortable win.
March is a different race of course but I can see nothing in BDM to convince me he finishes ahead of Santini...

Spot on , also had Saturdays trip been over the gold cup trip Santini would of beat BDM by at least 10L i reckon maybe more , so on that estimation Santini going to be involved comes March , I can seeing placing at least.

No question in my mind Kemboy and Al Boum Photo hold the strongest claims at this stage...

I agree, the debate was over LIT's chances, not BDM & Santini come March..

Haha just joking - your points regarding LIT are completely valid. I'm siding with ABP and LIT myself - think it will be them two at the last. We will know more after seeing Kemboy and Delta Work this weekend, and Percy and Santini aren't in my thoughts.

haha. ABP looks a worthy favourite but defending the GC is a big ask especially in this field, but he has a great chance. Agree on PP and Santini, don't think they have what it takes to win a GC.

I agree! I will never understand Elegant Escape being Tizzard's main chance over LIT.. this will need some serious explanation..

Correct me if I’m wrong, but why don’t they just keep watering after racing on the first day? Trainers are much less likely to pull their horses if it turned softer rather than faster ground? I’m no clerk of a course but is that too simple?

I want to back PP for Gold Cup, but dont know to wait until the day, might be offers, boosts, extra places etc. However, IF he wins today, what price does he go? I think he will run a solid race today and go very close in March, far better campaign this season!
