Cheltenham Festival Handicaps

Squoteaur with an eye catching second on handicap chase debut today. Perhaps might look to run and win to increase his mark and get in whatever his target may be?

Barney Dwan in the Pertemps qualifier today hopefully he finishes 6th and gets dropped a couple of lbs for the final, but im happy to take to the 33/1 nrnb with 365. Winner of his last race (where Brennan jumped off Barney Dwan) has franked the form yesterday. At 33/1 must be worth a go.

Yes, very pleasing run. Grand Annual??

HE - you're probably right, but he was in the betting for all 3 novice chases in the lead up to the festival, I think one high profile presenter called this one for the 4 miler.
he needs to be watched when entered over a trip...

You could be right, as like you say Killer Crow's best performance was in the Irish National and he has been campaigned at much shorter trips since. It's interesting that since then he has had around 13 runs, being beaten a long way in most, but has only been dropped about 10lbs in the handicap, so maybe they just keep running him to get a more generous reduction and then they'll aim him at something more appropriate.

Tricky one. He ran in the Martin Pipe last year and his best runs last season were over two and a half miles and he was even stepped up to three. I'd say the Novices Chase on day one but his mark of 130 in Ireland leaves him exposed to not making the cut depending on how harsh Mr. Smith is.

It looks like Ivanovich Gorbatov could be going for the County. What could he be carrying in this being last years Triumph winner?
25/1 nrnb.

Agree with this angle- he is down to a very nice mark in Ireland but we will see what happens. Certainly will enjoy spring ground at Cheltenham.

Another stat I noticed is his record in big fields, its making me want to ignore his other results.

Ivanovich Gorbatov looks such an obvious plot that Phil will drop a sledgehammer on him.

I wonder what marks all of Joseph's Juvenile horses will be given with the Fred Winter in mind. Camera angle wasn't the greatest, but Bhutan ran well for a long way.

Dandridge race an eye catching race over hurdles today. I'm assuming he'll be targeting the grand annual again this season.

FM,
you might want to look at another horse in that race that was even more eye catching imo. check out the runners/weights in last years Grand Annual.......

Doc - I assume you're referring to Velvet Maker.

Interesting they ran over hurdles, I know you can read so much into these things but I would think they're quite happy with the mark and don't want to ruin it.
Well fancied last year and very lightly raced, very interesting....

Not quoted in the betting for the GA as of yet - unless I can't see him for looking at him. Agree though, nice performance too.

Boredom has taken me to have a look at the CLose Brothers Handicap and i was very taken with Hells Kitchen, pulled the hands off for most of the race and still was bang there cruising near the finish when emptying in the final 2 furlongs. 12/1 looks a decent price.
big field will help him settle the bit as well

He got to 139 over hurdles so going to be dependent on what side of the bed Phil gets out of but an interesting shot.
