Cheltenham Bumper 2019

Mt Leinster still 20/1 sky any race

Well highlighted. Love that market so much.

No idea what has caused the cut, has Mt Leinster been bought by another owner in the yard?

Anyone heard anything about the mt Leinster price cut ? I can’t find anything anywhere

Not sure when the cut happened but there's been a few more bits and pieces coming out the yard over the last week on him.
He also got bought by the same owners as Blackbow at the end of October too

Patrick Mullins:

From Ruby last week too:

Mt Leinster made a huge impression when winning by 22 lengths on his Ballinrobe debut, and connections already have one eye on the Champion Bumper.

“Of the bumper horses we ran during the summer, he’s probably the horse which sticks out the most,” said Walsh.

“He’s put his name as first on the team sheet as a Cheltenham Bumper horse – but looking through the yard, we’ll have plenty to challenge him for that position come March.”

Been told to keep an eye on a horse in the bumper at Sandown later today called Peddler, he is currently about 10/1 but I am told he is a nice type and will be 'thereabouts' in this race.

Just woke up and hes a non runner:grumpy:

Definitely not a good race for me over the years
Interested in the mare’s angle though
Produced the last two winners with the 7lb allowance
Anyone know if Mullin’s or Elliott have a promising mare that might be aimed down this route ?
Or any other top trainer for that matter

Been looking and nothing of note just yet, but you would be foolish to ignore this angle.
The best time to look at it closely is the first weekend in February, as there are two mares only bumpers around that time,
Leopardstown & Fairyhouse I think ?
Not sure if most trainers have fully caught on, but it may just be a skill Mullins has with developing these mares.

Yukon Lil won the listed mares bumper at Gowran early October. The next one is at Navan on 25th November.

Mt Leinster Mullins only entry in bumper sunday at Punch

He's sold. Same colours as blackbow.

Cheers.

When I wake up I'll have a Blackbow Mt Leinster double for the Wednesday :highly_amused:

Knowing this news, you would hope the new owners haven’t been sold a dream like some of us was thinking given all the comments then finding he was up for sale !

Feels me with abit of confidence and I’m happy with my 25/1

Yes, hopefully my conspiracy theory proves false! His price is laughable at the moment though isn't it at 14s!

Yes I agree Kev, we haven’t really seen anything yet to support the price change. All the cuts I personally believe have been based off the comments on Mullins n co

Malone road v MT Leinster on Sunday. Should be a treat and very informative.

You'd have to fancy Malone Road wouldn't you? Surely if MT Leinster was a superstar he would have been bought by some of the leading owners in the yard or are blackbow owners investing alot ?

Deleted that as I want the price.

I wonder if both will actually how up? GE been leaving it late with other horses until ground is confirmed.

Took 25's! Only small, but have Mt. Leinster @ 40/1, Energumene 50/1 & Malone Road now!

I'd have waited till the end of the race personally as Malone rd will be pretty worthless in this market if gets beat well. And vice versa

I was already on Mt. Leinster tbh, from way back when he first appeared on here, so I went down the same route for Malone Road, as IF he beats Mt. Leinster there is no way they won't be shortening him, and I probably won't have the time to be hovering over the 'place bet' button unfortunately.

It is a bet 'in fear of missing out' however, compared with my current ante post portfolio, as always with the Champion Bumper, my stakes are kept to a minimum, I have the 3 covered now, and that will likely do me until nearer the time.
