Cheltenham Bumper 2019

Taken a punt on one other at long odds.... Mt Leinster at 40/1 with Bet365.

By Beat Hollow, just like the ill fated Hollowgraphic, and a half brother to Blackstairmountain, he was an effortless winner at Ballinrobe, albeit in a pretty weak affair. Stumbled across this comment which made me take note:

"We've been keeping that name for a good horse," said Patrick Mullins (the mountain overlooks the yard). The horse is owned and bred by Willie's wife Jackie so sure they will be aiming for the very top!

Mentioned in the stable tour. This race the aim.

Cheers Innoko... hadn't seen that. Perhaps telling this is the only Bumper horse that makes the list? 40/1 certainly seems huge.

He looks a very promising type that does everything right at home. I’d imagine we’ll stick to the bumper route with him and I’d be hopeful he could make up into a Champion Bumper contender.

40s long gone, 25s best price for Mt Leinster

I reckon this will get a good mention from Kevin Blake tomorrow on the FFP - strange to include it in the 40 when there are more high profile horses not mentioned... .Tornado Flyer is one! Highest rated bbumper horse Willie has EVER had!

The FAT JOCKEY gamble continues on Energumene , 33s long gone.William Hill and Skybet both now go 25s.

Energumene I managed to get 33's didn't get 50's in time. Being reading One Jump Ahead last couple of weeks.

Mt Leinster acquired by the Cooldine/Florida pearl connections have won the bumper twice already.

Was Hairy Molly their other bumper winner?

Blake did give it a good mention as I suspected too!

Disappointed to have missed the 40/1!

More positives for Mt Leinster today... Danny Mullins on the FFP.

Definitely not a good race for me over the years
Interested in the mare’s angle though
Produced the last two winners with the 7lb allowance
Anyone know if Mullin’s or Elliott have a promising mare that might be aimed down this route ?
Or any other top trainer for that matter

Yukon Lil won the only listed mares bumper in Ireland so far this season. The next one is Navan on 25th November. The best indicator will probably be the mares bumper at the Dublin Festival in February.
One word of caution. The Cheltenham bumper is only for 4 to 6yos so older mares, like my Eileen O and Dramalarma Lucy, aren't eligible.

Anyone thinking of backing Royal Rendezvous, currently favourite with bet365, betfair and Paddy P, should be aware that:
1. he's running in a maiden hurdle at Galway tomorrow.
2. he'll be 7 in March so is ineligible for the bumper.

Willie was asked on TV this afternoon for a dark horse for the season... he said the magic word... Enurgumene.

Did he? Watched him on ITV and he said Annamix and Asterion Forlonge?

I'll be honest, I didnt see it myself! But a mate I recommended Enurgumene to, texted me and told me? Maybe he did a couple of different interviews?

Just seen the interview posted on the Supreme thread. Must have been a different interview as the same lad has backed Annamix quite strongly and never mentioned he'd given him too...
