Cheltenham 2020 - Ante post bets

Nicholls is hosting his trainers day today.

Few snippets from RP articles including updates on his Novice Chasers:

Getaway Trump
Grand Sancy
Posh Trish
Southfield Stone
Trevelyns Corn
and on Pic D'Orhy...

He said: “I'm very excited about this horse, but we all know what a difficult year it can be for second-season hurdlers, so what do we do with him? Johnny [de la Hey, owner) is open-minded, so we’ll get together and make a plan. He has chaser written all over him and reminds me of Master Minded.”

Also:

Topofthegame - Everything geared towards Ladbroke Trophy :triumphant: and then Gold Cup
Cyrname - starts off at Ascot
Clan des Obeaux - Down Royal and King George. Maybe Punchestown Gold Cup in Spring
Frodon - likely Ryanair. Start off at Aintree in Old Roan then Haydock for Betfair Chase

Politologue - Wind op. Schloer Chase the first aim
Black Corton - Charlie Hall
Dolos - Haldon Gold Cup
Give Me A Copper - decent handicap chase in him. Wants a flat track
Brio Conti - BetVictor Gold Cup
Magic Saint -has had breathing op

Added 1pt for the Arkle myself. I expected much more in the Triumph but I like the fact they still keep singling him out and talking him up. In Harry Derhams podcast around May Nicholls also made a point about him unprompted for Novice chasing. With cashout had to back

Yes mate.Me and the better half are booked into the queens in Newport, going and coming back on the train the next day so we can oom pah. Still dont feel to well though thinks it will be really bad on the 11th/10 tee hee

A heads up, and I know it's so early on, but PP/Betfair have slashed Chacun Pour Soi today for the Champion Chase, so have gone in on the 7's with 365, before they likely disappear.

Last time I remember PP cutting a horse almost in half so early on was Samcro for the Ballymore, and they were not wrong with that one!

I know plenty of you have him at bigger prices, but for those that don't, like myself, I thought it was worth sharing.

Just done the bet £5 though Oddschecker with skybet to get a free £5 bet which can go on Cheltenham.Should be with me in the next 48hrs.Seems a win win to me :)

Is it worth us having an ante post diary section on the website? I can see us ending up with 30-40 diary threads the way things are going.

Just a thought.

Good shout!

I'd also like to see a 'Yards Visit' thread, so the guys, i.e. Billymag & Archie, plus others who do attend them, can put their information, and also questions for the yards should the chaps be happy to ask them when they do attend. Only reason I say this is because I was looking for the information billymag brought back and it took me some time to finally trace it, on this thread, after looking through other threads.

Was just thinking the same FM. Been holding off putting mine up. Definately a good idea but could clog up the first page of the forum. Even if you had a sticky in the Cheltenham forum (as it's the most used) that directed you to the other section and each diary? One for the mods...

Excellent idea. A purchases thread would also be useful so we can track who is buying what clearly

Agreed

Otherwise the first page is simply just going to be diaries

Hopefully OV can sort something.

Great idea CoD and Charlie. A lot of brilliant information is easily lost, especially when we get into the season.

Probably didn't think it through when I started it.

What is the end goal people want to see?

The majority of discussion in the ante-post thread?
Things directed just to races?
The topics suggested are also good ideas

OV - does it make a big difference with the amount of traffic on this particular thread? If we're taking away from that and it means we get less hits then we should knock the individual ones on the head?

My worry is that interesting discussions get lost in this thread currently... by people (like me obviously) listing what I've already done....

Open forum though, all thoughts welcome!! Don't be shy

I think a separate thread for lists is best, always annoying scrolling down when someone replies and includes the list.
If I, you, or anyone else with a list places a new bet they can always put this in the main antepost thread with reasoning, and keep the lists in different section.

Just a thought, but would it be worth having a separate forum for everyone to keep their individual notes and bets? Something like Chelenham Diaries maybe, then this forum wouldn't get snarled up with loads of different diaries.

Seperate thread /section for the diaries.
But have them as lists only I.e no reasoning etc.
Could just reference it along the lines of "as per the case made in xxx thread" if applicable. Or link it.
That way your still going to be driving people to the main Cheltenhem section / threads to read the reasons behind the bets if given

Something along those lines anyway. For me it's a case of making them fairly accessible but not filling up the first few pages of the forum. Plus cleans up these threads

Any one know anything about Fanion D'estruval - listed as with G. macaire . ??. 50-1 for the j.l.t.
