Gives us abit of value now if they push him out! But questions now can the Irish pull something out of the bag? Laurina? 7/4 BVD give me bit of that!

The Buveur D'air fanboys taken a bit of a hit there :devilish:

If he's ran his race. It only makes samcro worse. I dont see anything wrong with the run myself.
Congratulations to the mare.

I'm reserving judgement on Samcro for when he doesn't make the running, which I think will have just 'hardened' him up if nothing else, though I would conceded Buveur D'air was very good that day too.

3 excuses in a row for Samcro needed though.

Needs to bounce back much more than BVD does?

Looks like BD didn't get his shot today. Clearly not ran to his best and the mistake may have hurt him.

Verdana Blue, roughly ran to her mark (based on ITCF) on a track that suits , give or take a small improvement.

Nobody really wants to see a walkover at odds on if we look at the bigger picture.

Buveur D'air maybe was tuned up more for first time out in order to scare off Samcro.

Regardless, nobody must believe that was Buveur D'airs true running... but there is a chance he'll be under par again at Cheltenham.

Hopefully the bookies take a negative view when they all go NRNB. Unlikely

YEP !!. , Your right C.O.D, But I'm still confident That B.D will win the Champion hurdle in march:triumphant:

I'm not right, I'm just messing BC, on the back of Samcro taking a pounding on here ;)

Looks like it will be Bedrock Vs Verdana Blue for the Champion Hurdle now :devilish:

3? Don't think a fall needs an excuse, it's plainly obvious IMO.

Agree about the other runs though Kev, we will see how the Ryanair Hurdle goes, but if they continue to deploy 'make the running' tactics I can't have that as how he will be run on the day.

Also agree he has more to prove than BD, but would have said that at the beginning of the season too, that's never changed.

Yorkhill is the one to beat

You know what I mean though, a fall is still a run that needs a line putting through it, and with some horse's they're given the credit for winning or running well in a race they fell in.

Either way, it's not been a betting race and it's still not for me.

Apart from Yorkhill. All in.

I think it's now fairly obvious that the novice hurdlers to have stayed hurdling, are not that good.
Bubble's bursting all over the place.

At least so far as none have progressed satisfactorily as yet from any of the three main championship novice races.
Apart from Paisley Park who was last in the AB, and Sharjah from the supreme (arguably).

Just the head girl from the mares division to come out.
And willy looks like he won't be inflating the Laurina balloon much at all pre-Cheltenham.

Nico blew the county today

Reading between the lines I don’t think BDA has done a thing since Newcastle

Don't think they had county hurdle in mind for the mare at all.
They've qualified her for the all weather final. And she runs a few pounds below her best at cheltenham.

If they didn't do much with Buveur D'air, is impressive he's still beaten the rest of the field... and the way Nico "rode" the finish, I can't help feel he didn't want to get his head in front. They can't have expected Verdana Blue to beat Buveur D'air, so perhaps it'll be a shot in the arm for Nicky to not tale any chances and tube him up properly for his races? He's said he takes his work and racing well, so instead of a walkover in the contenders, they could really really consider the much tougher Dublin racing festival ...

The only alternative mentioned to the Contenders after the race was.........the Kingwell. :grumpy:

Well he's trained plenty of Champion Hurdle winners so fair enough
