Ballymore (Previously Neptune) Novice Hurdle 2018

Mainly because of the type of horses they buy, Giggi have never won the Supreme and only First Lieutenant (somewhat fortunately as I remember) won the Neptune for them. If they go for the Supreme they are nuts.

I presume Davy Russell was in the same mood as for most of the Cheltenham previews. Good value but.....

I was sold at FM saying he's special. Now these 'experts' are copying his work can only be a positive. :highly_amused:

There is value to be had still, And ill continue to hunt it ... but this is sounding like the second coming.

Im sadly yet to be on in a single, got a couple of multiples going. We reckon hes still a price worth backing, or wait?

You would expect the 6-1 to last until his next race, probably worth waiting until up to that point....but I'm no expert! :devilish:

Be interesting if Annamix is Mullins horse for the supreme and is as good as the rumors/Market suggests. If he is, it would make sense for both party's to want to avoid the other. 25s/33s into 10-1 without being seen is very similar to the Melon/Min gambles. Of course he will have a number of novices who could prove themselves to be serious contenders for either race.

Difficult to know exactly how I'd feel as its hard to 'un-know' what you know ... it's VERY easy if on at a big price to say 'well you can't back him now he's too short'.

Whenever I place an ante post bet I consider whether I think I'll best the best morning price.... if Samcro is bigger than 6/1 then he'll have flopped on the way. Faugheen went off 7/4, so will Samcro be shorter? No at a guess ... So would I risk the target and getting there without injury at 6/1 ... I think I would ... but I'm a lot looser with my pts than others :highly_amused:

I agree with that kev, is 6-1 value for someone who's on at 16s, probably not due to the need for him to win already. Is 6-1 value now for a punter just getting involved who hasn't had a bet yet, most probably considering what he will go off at if he continues to impress.

Well that was short lived , cut this morning, 5-1 with all major bookmakers. 6s only with unibet and 888sport

Haha!

I just proved it...I am no expert! :highly_amused:

Bookmakers probably swarm all over these forums, knowing people will still back a horse, then cut it further

Really looking forward to SLATE HOUSE, going by the lesser known pointers of tizzard that ran at chepstow and behind lalor, I believe he's going to look very special.

Yes, 33-1 could look very big...

Just watched a vid of joe tizzard talking about his chances today, his home work and already talking about how he will be at the spring festivals.

I posted the below on the Supreme thread after Scooby put him up in there. I remember also reading some comments from the yard open day where they were already talking him up and expected big things.

Being by Presenting and talked of as a future chaser, I think we'll end up hearing more of Slate House on the Neptune thread in due course. Agent Tom Malone was very enthusiastic about him when purchased at the Cheltenham sales in March.

Malone said: "Slate House is a machine, there's no two ways about it. He was so impressive. The two most impressive performances in point-to-points this autumn were Finian's Oscar and Slate House. One has been allowed to go and prove himself and I hope this one will be the same."

Happy to be on Slate House any race, travelled through that race really well didn't he. Jumped the last well, jumped quite a few well.

I think he'll step up in trip next time... was very well on top at the end?

I think he was very good. Backed him for the race and happy about the drift. Got 33s for the neptune straight after the race.
He travelled really well, he was cut straight away for the supreme . I do believe he will go up in trip after the tolworth but he dosent need to.

Not wanting to knock a very solid debut but he didn't scream Supreme Horse to me. I'd even go as far as to say he may end up in the potato race!

COOL GETAWAY tempts me at 40s travelled and stayed well in his ptp wining very nicely before being sold to jp for 305,000 I'm taken by the tizzard horse he bought that came out of that race and the forms worked out well. He goes straight over hurdles, the only think that put me off is Gordon trains him. And obviously he has samcro for the neptune, and they may have worked together at home.

I have only backed him in this race so far , obviously interested to hear where they( Tizzards ) think he'll go .

I'm hoping he goes here, but been getting backed for supreme by a few

Slate House (in the Tizzard stable tour today) confirmed he'l;; be tried over 2m4f next time out...
