Ballymore Novice Hurdle 2020

Monksfield Novice Hurdle:
Abacadabras, Doyen Dancer, Fury Road, Glamorgan Duke, Sixshooter. Caddy Shack.

Abacadabras is an odd one thought he would be a 2miler through and through

Fury Road will win this in my view. Was very impressed with his debut run where he jumped impeccably and cruised through the race, quickening away to win with plenty left. Surprised Abacadabras has taken this option but think he is here for the decent place prize money on offer before dropping back to 2 miles. Looks all speed to me and can't see him beating FR in this. Good looking race.

Same. Tough little race too. Winner deserves to be fav for the ballymore. I suppose you'd have to take at face value that's where the winner would go.

Suppose it could be a bit of a Gigginstown fact finding mission.

Arguably their 3 top novices could help decide how to shuffle the pack

Not only the 2miles bit tht's weird, seems weird they'd race him with a 6pd penalty in a G3...doesn't seem worth it when you've two others....dodging Envoi?

6 to fury road. 10 to six shooter.
Suppose giggi want to see who's best of the 3. And who's pushed out to the bartlett.

For me Fury Road will be an Albert horse. Looks like he could stay all day long. Looked to have loads left in the tank over 2m 6f on his debut. I'd be very surprised if they went Ballymore.

Well, you'd want to hope he doesn't win this then. He's faced zero yet, this is where you'll find out if hes up to scratch.

I need Abacadras to travel well, look fast then get outstayed in a very obvious fashion.... so that he loses nothing in defeat bar knowing he's not a Ballymore horse

Not too much to ask? :sorrow:

I'm not sure, think you want him to tank through the race and still win. Hope they drop back.

If Aba shows he's a 2 miler- then there's some sort of chance Fury might go here- Giggy couldn't give a monkeys about splitting up their horses to suit other owners. Though i do think he's more likely to head over 3 as well!

Interesting mention on FFP about Abacadabras anyone else listen?

Think you will get your wish. FR will pile it on from the front and make it a proper staying race in the heavy ground. Abacadabras is just there to pick up the healthy £8k second place prize money before reverting back to 2 miles.

Gigginstown have also got Midnight Run

I did but he was babyish and green, that's why hes gathering so much experience early doors. I'd think they're talking rubbish tbh. But here's where we'll find out.

No what was it?

Adam Webb, a very good judge (first time on pod) mentioned that he's won so easily on the bridle so far, never extender. Back in bumpers at G1 level, when he was under pressure at the top level, he showed signs of quirks.....thought that was a very fair poiint and possibly something to be wary of.

Fair points, possibly right too- still a concern until proven otherwise for me.
