Albert Bartlett 2020

yes thats true.. i was very impressed with his bumper win though, first time up, great ride by codd.too...Ge apparantly left a lot on him for his maiden. when Gordo said he's a horse for next year i immediatly put him in my tracker and was waiting for this entry...might be a change of mind.

Gordon has entered 10 in the race.
I doubt he'd run Festival Dex. (never know though)
Depends who's fit and well really.
I'd imagine Fury Road will run. and maybe one or two others.
Can probably rule out the 2 milers.

He's entered this weekend along with Monkfish. More likely he'd run here i imagine.

Festival D'ex's entry this weekend is over 2M6F, so it would be a good guide as to if he wants/can go further (AB trip) or come back a furlong to the Ballymore. Given its only his second hurdles start, the race at Navan is a much more sensible race for him that the DRF two weeks later.

Have him for the ballymore so fingers crossed he wins but doesn’t power away

Connections will wait until much closer to the time before deciding which race Thyme Hill will contest at the Cheltenham Festival.

Third behind the Irish-trained pair of Envoi Allen and Blue Sari in last season's Champion Bumper at Prestbury Park, the Philip Hobbs-trained six-year-old has established himself as one of Britain's leading novice hurdlers this season with three successive wins.
Thyme Hill completed his hat-trick in the Grade One Challow Novices' Hurdle late last month and is set to head straight to the showpiece meeting in the Cotswolds - but whether he lines up for the Ballymore Novices' Hurdle or the longer Albert Bartlett remains to be seen.
Hobbs said: "Thyme Hill is is absolutely fine. He is not the most robust horse, though he is better than last season.
"He wouldn't be physically as tough as some and as a result it makes sense not to run him before Cheltenham, so we are giving him a nice easy time at the moment. We will get some more condition on him before building up towards Cheltenham.
"My first reaction having watched the Challow is that it wasn't as good a performance as his previous runs over hurdles. However, Richard disagreed and thought he was slightly outside his comfort zone going as quick as they did. As a result his jumping at times wasn't as good as it could be, as in other races he has jumped better.
"Hopefully the race will have taught him a fair bit and he will improve for that. He will have the two options (at Cheltenham), but I wouldn't think the Albert Bartlett will be very likely if it is very soft, as I'm not sure he would want a slog. The ground will be an important thing, so there is no point deciding at this stage."

Thanks CK albeit a very concerning update for someone who has Thyme Hill in just about every trix/yankee for the potato race....

Hobbs is a pragmatist. Heknows that he won't beat Envoi Allen and will only go Ballymore if EA is out.

TH 'slightly out of his comfort zone going as quick as they did in Challow'. Those words from Dickie Johnson tell you all you need to know which race he'll end up in. He might find a couple of potatoes too good for him though.

I wouldn’t worry too much Ista. He’s only ruling out the spud race if it’s ‘very soft’. Given the jockey thought his jumping wasn’t as good due to being out of comfort zone - I’d still reckon, bar heavy, he’ll run in this. It can’t rain for ever & natures balancing means we’re due a drying spring- surely!

I'm on the other side of the fence ! , the trainer said Ballymore after the festival .
So my moneys down for this , And Stubbornly i would'nt back in the A.B .
Until about a month ago when i put it in a multi with E,A - ballymore , T.H - al bart.:mad-new:

Interesting that; I thought he was a cert to come here but perhaps not. Might be time to have a decent bet on Fury Road; at the very least there’s a good chance he’s a lot shorter on the day

Latest Exhibition update -

https://www.racingpost.com/news/and...n-on-target-for-dublin-racing-festival/418161

Nolan said: "Latest Exhibition’s form is working out well with Andy Dufresne coming out and winning the Moscow Flyer at Punchestown on Sunday and Conflated, who was third in the Navan race, running well in a Grade 1 at Naas.

"Before his Navan win our horse ran second to Abacadabras in the For Auction Hurdle and that form has also been boosted since with the winner landing a Grade 1 at Christmas."

Nolan believes that tackling two miles and six furlongs for the first time at Leopardstown will suit Latest Exhibition. He said: "There’s plenty of stamina in his pedigree, so you’d imagine the longer trip won’t be a problem.

"He doesn’t have to have heavy ground, but we don’t want to see the word 'good' in the ground description on the day. Easy, safe jumping ground will be fine.

"There’s a very strong look to the race with a lot of good horses entered and it’s going to be very competitive whoever turns up, but our horse is certainly entitled to take his chance. He's in very good form."

Funny how the word 'good' is positive for 'horses' and 'form' but not for 'ground'.

Bet Festival D’Ex on 17/10/19 after reading / hearing ( can’t remember :concern:) that Elliot had said Ballymore

Have I missed something ?

Nothing I've heard. I would think its Ballymore and possibly Bartlett. Festival D'Ex has an entry in a 2M6&1/2F Novice Hurdle at Thurles on Sunday. That's possibly a good route for GE to assess him and his trip without dipping straight into Grade 1 in 2 weeks time.

And I doubt genuine good to soft ground would put any deep ground connections off archie ?
Good/quick ground will be problem I get that but if there's enough juice for a horse to get their toe in I'd be surprised if good to soft was enough to pull one out...

Bumper form with Longhouse Poet is strong and looked very progressive last time out. Expect Monkfish to lay down a marker for this tomorrow, added at 20s.
