Albert Bartlett 2020

Backed Diol Ker at 33-1 for this again today.
The maiden he won has been well franked today by Escaria Ten and Monkfish in a strongly run race for it's type, with plenty pulled up/tailed off who have ran well since.
Diol Ker won it going away and is entitled to improve as much as the placed horses.
Entered at Dublin.
Fill your boots.

He’s actually one I’d parked on the list for next season given connections and post race comments. Only trouble is that Noel is not the most prolific at Cheltenham and I feel he does get the best of the Gigginstown horses either.

If you wanted to paint a horse to make a chaser, you'd paint him - he's the most gorgeous horse. He was going to win at Leopardstown last year when stumbling at the last and whatever he did, he sort of frightened himself and may have pulled something because it took him a long time to get over it. He had another run when beaten at Navan and we said we'd leave him after that. He'll have his season jumping hurdles and will go chasing next year. Hopefully he stays together because he could be a real one when he gets jumping fences. He stays well and I had no doubt about that, he was getting an allowance off winners too. He's a horse for the future and it might take fences before he gets to the very top - Noel Meade, trainer of Diol Ker

That all figures.
The Bartlett is the race to go for staying chasers of the future.
Pretty sure Mr Meade will have seen how his form has worked out and start thinking about a graded race for this horse over a trip this season. The Dublin race seems the one to have a ago at, and then decide what to do from there.

How confident would you be about Diol Ker turning up at the Festival? You’re right about Meades numbers, he only ever brings a few but he does have a decent record at Cheltenham from memory. Gigginstown are obsessed with the Festival and love winning at it so given the owners I’d be confident of him making the trip but I know very little about the horse himself.

I would say that it completely depends how Diol Ker runs in the 2M6F Grade 1 at the DRF as to whether he travels for the Bartlett 5 weeks later. Personally if I fancied him enough when that field is announced, I would back him there rather than the AB. Could always double up on the AB post DRF if his plans revealed a run in the Bartlett.

It's a nice spot by Q. As already mentioned he fits quite a few trends for this race. He'll probably lose at the DRF but still be a possible for this.

Ld, hdd 7th, cl 2nd when fell 3out when falling behind another possible for this- The Big Getaway.

Any reason why he's been off since November?

Can't believe how short Monkfish has gone here! How Latest Exhibition is a bigger price I will never know.

If Mullins/Ricci trained/owned Latest Exhibition then I imagine he would be single figures as well. I think 12/1 is more than fair about Latest Exhibition. Really confident of a good showing at the DRF

Yes, there will be multiple runners clashing in several DRF races that are in our antepost books, possibly giving us a different view of some of the markets afterwards, just like Christmas, the two main testing grounds for antepost Festival betting.

Squeaky B()m time. :hopelessness::hopelessness:

Any news why Big Breakaway not gone Ballymore on Trials day? That 'was' the plan. Maybe straight there now perhaps??

Just seen in Albert thread. Cheers.

Answer is on the Ballymore thread today. Got a knock that swelled up, waiting to find another race pre-Festival was the gist.

Richard Johnson having tests on a suspected broken arm for Thyme Hill backers

More disappointing for Dickie than backers...

I can't imagine they'd struggle for a decent replacement, and the horse doesn't look too tricky?

Not ideal, obviously :)

No that’s true it was the first big ride he had at the festival that sprang to mind should be back in a month all being well

King Roland needs to come here

Odd burst of speed mid race though?!

Looked like he was the best horse ever as the camera panned around :highly_amused:

He’s a big relentless galloper

So what happened around the final bend? All the other horses slowed down?

Just pointing out it looked strange :witless:
