Albert Bartlett 2020

The Big Getaway goes tomorrow at Leopardstown. I’m adamant he’s a Spud horse. He’ll be getting some money from me before he runs.

Thyme Hill a definite Bartlett horse

Cashel Man was seemingly well fancied today and another gutsy performance from Thyme Hill, stamina winning the day again.

What a performance from thyme hill. He beat a proper one there.

I had my doubts and backed the 2nd last night. As I thought hed be very hard to beat.

Certainly got a live one!

Genuinely.. I can’t remember a year I was as confident in one antepost for the Albert Bartlett (the bet is any race but that’s irrelevant really). I really really like him.

That was actually a better performance than twitter/itv seem to think in my view. Gutsy, battled and ultimately beat the well backed runner up who pissed up in a handicap the time before. As AB trials go, that was a good one from Thyme Hill. The one to beat here for sure.

Just a warning as Hobbs is quoted in RP analysis of the race "I think Cheltenham will be ground related. Soft and he'll probably go for The Ballymore and goodish ground he'll probably go for The Albert Bartlett"

He deffo sets the standard and deserves to be fav. Think he'll end up here. Not sure if we have seen the best of the Irish yet.

He could have gone round again today. Can’t believe Hobbs thinks he can beat Envoi in the Ballymore ???? He be banker material in the spuds race. And yes ......... I’m talking with my pocket !!!

Agree completely. Would take desperate ground or no Envoi to go Ballymore.

Surely Hobbs won’t want to ruin Envoi Allen’s parade by running against him? :devilish::highly_amused:

QUOTES: THYME HILL stays well and only dossed when he got to the front. His jumping wasn't what it can be and that's what concerned me a bit, but Richard said he was just dossing in behind the others and when he pulled him wide in the straight he was slap bang on the bridle. I think Cheltenham will be ground dependent. Soft and he'll probably go for the Ballymore and goodish ground he'll probably go for the Albert Bartlett. My first reaction is to go straight to Cheltenham as he's not the sort of horse to be running every week. - Philip Hobbs, trainer

TH comes here and wins , that form of the bumper not electric its damn god sizzling. Cant remember a season we have that by New Year we have anti post favs at the 3 major nov hurdles all coming from that bumper. The treble on , its not for me but its possible

Sky bet have fooked up again ....... Thyme Hill special to win the Challow and the spuds race 11/1 is still offered. Specials - national hunt double. Act fast
