Albert Bartlett 2020

Owners and Mullins must be cooing after Big G just strutted his stuff , further he goes the better.

So how would you split his top three ,I would go like this however Im biased as im on at massive prices all three.

Shishkin - Supreme
Asterion Furlongge - Ballymore
The Big Getaway - Albert Bartlett

Willie has suggested the Ballymore for TBG so happy with my 50/1 for that race EW

It’s a nice price but I just don’t see him having the juice for that race.

EA is going to be hard to beat but the places are well up for grabs and he wont be 50/1 on the day should be rock up here. He is a nice back up for me as I don't have much else in this race unless Chantry House comes here instead of the Supreme

Willie has Elixir D’ainay albeit for a different owner. I’d also fancy Tizzards options as well. Although I’m a big fan of TBG for the Spud, I’d have him beat by a few in this for sure.

I have a free bet on Elixir at 16s actually, forgot about that one.

It is only a 3f distance between the two.

No doubt they'll wait for ground and opponents as well as their own pack before they commit.

It was a huge over reaction to him being beaten LTO that I'm glad was so well highlighted on here.

The Big Getaway really good there.

I know JackieMoon and Scooby are also in his fan club.

A few of us on at 33s any race?

They pushed him out in the betting after that error last time so maybe some more people got on then too.

Ruby suggesting he might not have enough runs for an Albert Bartlett and a front running ride in the Ballymore may suit.... but he's be one that would be going on the boat...

Yip really like him as well mate.

Took the any race given the luxuries Mullins has. Isn’t half a big chaser in the making so surely anything over hurdles will be a bonus.

Don’t think he would be quick enough for a ballymore so from a winning point of view would have more chance here imo.

I think the 3f plays a part at the end of the race (visually at least) rather than in the total distance. The Ballymore has historically been one by speedier types with a bit of juice down the home straight. There have been many boats capsized going for the Ballymore... and as much as I liked TBG from pre-season, he's bigger than a tanker!

I'm a big fan of Paul Nolan and am really looking forward to seeing Latest Exhibition in the Navan Novice Hurdle on Sunday. I suspect the chief Mullins and Elliott runners will command most of the attention, but he's a smart prospect tried over inadequate trips so far. They have been clear the Albert Barlett is their long term plan and he is completely undiscovered in the market at 66/1. I am not expecting him to win on Sunday, but I am expecting a decent run.

We were supposed to see him last year in the bumper but he was forced to miss Cheltenham due to a foot infection and was subsequently off for the season. Their plan is to see how it goes Sunday and then he could go to the grade 1 at Naas in February.

The Nolan's were very open about saying he was tried over too short a trip and too soon vs Abacadabras where he ran a credible race in second. On debut he beat Thatsy who subsequently won since. His jumping is excellent and I don't see the Nolan's throwing him into a race vs the likes of Andy Dufresne and Elixir D'ainay without thinking he could be quite smart and the step up will suit. They have said their plan is to gradually step him up before trying him over 3m for the first time in the Albert Bartlett. I hope Rachel Blackmore keeps riding him.

Just been going through my ante post bets & realised I’ve put a tenner on Latest Exhibition for this at 70/1 months ago. I must have been pissed as Zero recollection of placing the bet. I reckon this was the post I was reading at the time when looking at market for the race. He’s now 12/1. Thanks Charlie! That’s why I love this forum... :encouragement:

I would still think there's some hope of the TBG coming here. Mullins has asterion forlonge for the same owners who's yet to run further than 2 miles under rules....it would be bold to put him in the spud race even if he does go up in trip next time out, that would be quite a jump and given he was pretty quick in the final furling of his previous race I'm not sure how likely that is.

I think there's more chance of the TBG coming here out of the 2, just my opinion of course.

AF in the bartlett wouldnt be wise, id prefer nags to have a bit more experience for that race more so then the other novice hurdles

Hahaha excellent stuff mate

Whilst a lot of evidence has been around experience in this race over recent years, it’s worth noting last years result, Ireland’s potential domination + Hendo in the novice hurdle depts + a recent run:

1) Minella Indo, Ire, 3rd run, last ran mid Feb
2) COF, Ire, 4th run, last ran DRF
3) Allaho, Ire, 2nd run, beat Minella mid Feb
4) Dickie Diver, Hendo, 3rd run, mid-late Feb

I’m inclined to think the winner of this will be seen out in the next few weeks, probably from Ire & not as experienced as some may think / feel they need to be.

My personal fancy for this is Lord Royal as I thought he was brilliant fto when the stables runners need a run in a very good time vs the rest of the card that day. Hoping he bursts onto the scene either at the DRF or in the G3 3m at Clonmel where last years 1/3 finished. I’ve backed my opinion accordingly at 25s & a bit at 33s anyrace with Hills before debut

Just me that’s backed Ramses de Teillee for this at 33s then?

At least he’s a guaranteed stayer!

You're not alone :encouragement:
Definitely keeps going don't he.

As the person who actually got the 66/1 quote added for Latest Exhibition after the Galway win this thread was certainly an eye opener. There was me thinking I was the only one on at that price!

Think a couple are on mate, hopefully he gets there to see the run!
