2027 The Prices on Offer

I don't see the interest in el cairos myself at all. I do to a point, as in it seems like a good opportunity to back and lay, as he can only really go for one race, and he's the type to still be hyped for a while, so he'll end up a bit shorter.

But on the actual horses ability, he has still shown absolutely nothing off the bridle to this point. And even with kennedy on is still lugging to the left whenever he's asked to get serious. Another abacadabras type I'd say myself, but probably not even as good as him.
Yeah, honestly I can't see myself backing him again.

Dan on Nick Luck Daily:

Lea Du Sud stepping up to 2m4f at Aintree.

Grey Dawning confirmed for the Ryanair next year (as it were).

Mydaddypaddy - pencilled in for Champion Hurdle Campaign.

The New Lion - 2m4 at Aintree but sounded on the fence re 2 or 3 miles next year.

Mydaddypaddy is just a must back at the current price to me. Much rather take the 20s for him than the bigger El Cairos prices.

Sounds like he doesn’t run again this season so can only see him shortening over the summer. And given the lack of depth in the 2 mile division over here he could easily be single figures if winning something like the Fighting Fifth.

With all but confirmation from Dan and the apparent lack of depth in the market, he'd be a 12/1 shot in my book. Anything more than that is fair in my view.

I would have him very similar. No bad run in the Supreme, at all, and with the other two from the race looking like going chasing, The New Lion stepping up in trip, State Man will be 10 (will he even make it back), Brighterdaysahead going chasing (again), it really is open, especially if anything were to happen to Lossie!

Has Dan mentioned TNL stepping up or are we just assuming based on the run and this news?

Agreed. I think you can reasonably discount State Man, BDA, and TNL for now. Of those whose participation in the event is more than 50%, I've got it as follows in order of best RPRs posted this year:

* Lossiemouth - 163 (170 if mares allowance included)
* Golden Ace - 155 (162 if mares allowance included)
* Alexei - 160
* Mydaddypaddy - 154
* Wilful - 150
* King Rasko Grey - 147
* El Cairos - 145
* Apolon De Charnie - 138
* William Munny - n/a (but 155 the year before)

MDP should probably be second fav in my opinion given he is 5 turning 6 with plenty of scope for improvement. He is a more likely winner than Golden Ace or Alexei who's ability has probably been bottomed out.

2m4 confirmed for Aintree on NL Daily. Also said to Segal that he'd potentially be a stayers hurdle horse (apparently - I can't read the article as not a subscriber).

Strange decision not to send him novice chasing imo
Very sensible decision imo. The open grade ones over two miles in the UK will consist of golden ace, alexei, tutti quanti etc with con hill gone and sir ginos future up in the air. Those races are there for the taking next year, so something has to stay hurdling imo to take advantage of such a weak division.

Well I didn't see that coming, he seemed adamant in going chasing next before and after the supreme.

Yeah potentially - I just prefer horses to go novice chasing as a general rule of thumb tbh and he's well built to be a nice novice chaser.

Got to laugh really, before the festival Skelton said without hesitation MDP Was his horse for the Arkle next year 😂

He's good at plotting one and cheating his way to Cheltenham handicaps is old Dan.
Hats off to him for that.
But he's below average at best when it comes to grade one targets.
Jockey can't be much of a judge either.

Thought White Noise, the Mares Novices Hurdle winner, is overpriced @ 50/1 for the Mares Hurdle.

She looked to have plenty of stamina about her, leading or prominent throughout before rallying and really seeing the 2m1f out well up the hill. I can only imagine the 2m4f of the Mares Hurdle will be right up her street, and being that she is 7 next season I can see them targeting the race over a handicap.

Looking at previous winners in recent years it has been pretty fruitful.

Air Of Entitlement following up in the Martin Pipe this season.

Golden Ace, albeit somewhat fortuitously, winning the Champion Hurdle.

Love Envoi finishing 2nd to Lossiemouth in the Mares Hurdle.

Telmesomethinggirl arguably travelling best when being brought down in the 2022 Mares Hurdle, before finishing 2nd to Lossiemouth in the 2024 renewal.

Concertista 2nd in the Mares Hurdle the following season.
