I’m on with the exchange last week when it was being discussed on here.
Watching yesterday im not sure he would win any of the two races.
But the Ryanair gives him more chance, no doubt in my mind.

Trainer being very stubborn though.

They did, quick check and got him to trot up, horse was sound & Harry was happy enough to carry on..he was half telling the vet not to bother as they approached.

You'll get much bigger on Betfair if you fancy him to go Ryanair and are patient enough. Some absolute joke antepost prices from the bookies on this one, which hopefully nobody is taking.

Expect he'll still go Gold Cup regardless to be honest. I couldn't back him for it mind!

There's definitely a way being kicked could have an impact on his performance mind. I'm not sure how a vet check definitively proves otherwise. Also think he could a pretty poor ride compared to the winner.

But I don't think he's ever been Gold Cup class either way...
 
The Jukebox Man @ 16/1 and Jango Baie @ 10/1 are huge NRNB prices for the Ryanair. If it came up really soft and one or other decided to go surely they'd not be 3/1?

I mean why would you do that ?

I think there's a little tension between Willie and JP in respect of this horses best trip. Willie has always maintained he's a Gold Cup horse. JP and his team have always said 2 - 2m4. Willie says he had him in the GC then Frank took him out.

Looking back at FTF's season to date, Willie has certainly been training him as a GC horse. He settled beautifully in the John Durkan and didn't go with the early pace, which surprised me. I know they thought he wasn't quite right at Christmas, but again, he settled quite well and then couldn't go the mad dash to the line. And then today was as good a GC trial as you could hope for. Settled, increased the speed when required, and maintained it to the line.

It reminds me of GDC's first year in open company when they were teaching him to settle.

The point being, that I think it's a different case to last year. Last year, Inothewayurthinkin wasn't entered for whatever reason, but Gavin and JP were on the same page, at least that's how it seems to be. This year, there's a clash of opinions and I wonder if JP will pull rank and not supplement him.

Realistically, probably just Betfair playing up. No mention on X about him at all.

Elliott has pulled three of his Gold Cup entries today so possible he has been taken out, though no report anywhere on it. More concerning for you though is LadCor have took him out also and Coral sponsor the Skelton yard!

It's a not a concern really, was free rolling for 94pts.

Just had it confirmed by Laila at Betfair !!

Skelton contacted Betfair this evening to advise the horse has been scratched from the ryanair.

Absolute mad decision if you ask me.
No reason at this stage other than to spite me :ROFLMAO:

I genuinely think he will be pulled up also.

There's no logic to running GD in the Gold Cup. Doesn't stay well enough, isn't classy enough. Positive ride over the Ryanair trip on the new course (e.g. Protekterat) is perfect. I can't see how he even finishes

3 lengths behind Gaelic Warrior at Aintree over 3m 1f having raced prominently throughout entitles him to be in contention for a Gold Cup. Both Stage Star and The Real Whacker who also raced prominently faded completely out of contention. He may not be good enough, he may not stay the Gold Cup trip strong enough, but he has done enough to be considered in an open year. Less than 24 hours ago Fact To File barely stayed three miles according to most people here yet suddenly he is favourite for a Gold Cup.

Thanks for the info, managed to cash my roll up with Spillane’s Tower the other week for profit on 365.

Absolute madness as you say, not sure how you can look at the Gold Cup market after results this season and think he’s a chance of even placing :rolleyes:
