2026 Novice Hurdlers

It's very simplistic to say all horses racing prominently are favoured to those held up in a slow run race imo. Regardless of finishing percentages...
I didn’t say that . I questioned the phrase tired horses. The front three had the three fastest finishing percentages in the whole field. Based on this I think it’s a stretch to claim he was closing down tired horses.

Fair enough, perhaps tired isn't the right word. I'm not singling out Talk The Talk I'm just trying to make sense of the race.

I'm not invested in any of the horses.

Maybe I should just leave it but then my conclusion would be to draw a line through it and conclude that there isn't much between them, given the information about KRG and the blanket finish.

Talk The Talk picked up well but only well enough to win by a whisker.

I understand. The data suggests he was accelerating past horses that were also finishing fast. The reason most believe his run deserves to be upgraded is because he managed to do this from a very unpromising position considering the very slow early fractions. Remember he fell the time before and so winning that race was most likely not their primary objective and yet he still managed to do so. I’m not trying to encourage you to have a bet or convince you of the merit of TTT but explain why so many believe the best horse won and to help you make at bit more sense of the race. If I am teaching grandmother to suck eggs I apologise :D

Thanks yeah it does make sense and I have heard this alot.

I suppose it all depends on what way you look at the photo 📸 if he did win or not! Haha

That particular race I want to see a standout performance, I didn't see it this year.

It's a good starting point for analysis though.

Did I catch that right “talk to talk” has been up for sale? (Tatts preview)

I find that strange, it’s not like the double greens are a small yard looking to take advantage on a horse with a bunch of 1’s next to his name
They must be asking about 2 million for him. I can't see any other reason he wouldn't have been bought by now. The New Lion went for about 1.3m i think.

Looking forward to the Dovecote. It looks quite competitive. Things have been so bad the last winner I backed was Desertmore News. That was great to watch, I don't think I have seen a novice jump better this season. He ran away from nothing, but hopefully, he can step up today.

Probably one of the best each way pokes of all the graded races
I’ll sort that
Turners
Queally in racing post today saying turners most likely race for him
Some bellend been laying him at 40’s and 50’s for weeks now
The lawlors might turn out to be not great form
But there’s also a good chance it’s great form
It was certainly ran at a proper pace as the field of previous winners were strung out all over the shop

I place a silly related EW treble last week. Based around that Naas form.

Sortudo Supreme
I'll Sort that Turners
Fruit De Mer AB

That's two just about confirmed. Need Willie to open his mouth a bit!

If you want an I'll Sort That related novice hurdle multi I reckon Theflyingking is worth considering in the Bartlett. For all he's been out with a knock and doesn't have as much experience as you'd like...

Pretty obvious, but just watching the Tattersalls Preview in full and Talk The Talk 90% going to the Supreme, coming from Anthony Bromley.

Yeah he told me the same few weeks ago

Said they were nervous on IEP stepping up when he went but looked easier option at the time. But said TTT is very buzzy and if he gets keen would be a nightmare, also said if Steinberg went Turners wouldn't necessarily be the easier option then

But they only had 2f further to go than what IEP did on his Naas debut when he smashed the field! I'd say TTT very different from him.

Yeah I know mate

But that kinda emphasises how unlikely it is he'd go up

I'd have liked to have seen him in the Turners myself but can see why they're sticking to plan A

And didn't he say IEP going Aintree ?

David Pipe confirming Windbeneathmywings will NOT be running at Cheltenham.

Struggled to get him ready to qualify for the race by running pre-festival.

To be held back for next season now.
