2026 Champion Hurdle

Yes like carnage said, I didn't mean they are writing her off as a decent horse. It seems they are writing her off from running in the champion hurdle. Which is a shame

They aren't

Agreed. Unless they make all and draw stamina into it. Can’t see that after the “mucking around” when alone out front last time.
They will give it a real go, the Skeltons won’t shy from that!!
If there is anything left from the issues that SG had then it’s possible a hard race could find him out.
If not, he would cruise past TNL imo.

That's a good point Lobos. I am not on Lossie but i imagine most people are on the verge of writing their Champion Hurdle slips off. A defeat for Sir Gino and it changes everything.
Don’t forget SG will have to give TNL a few pounds

The Champion Hurdle picture will be crystal clear after the DRF if Nicky doesn’t shirk TNL challenge & Lossie, BDA & Anzadam show their cards at Leopardstown.

We’ll probably get a a good steer on Lossie’s target in the process.

I'd no one concerned about Sir Gino's hurdling? He isn't exactly rapid over them. The Skeltons should run a pacemaker and see if the can get SG on the back foot with his careful jumping.

He is big over them, isn't he. Mind you, he could be the other way, like Constitution Hill, and end up on the deck.

SG's raw speed and ability probably means he loses very little over his hurdles, despite not being the most economical over them.

He just looks like a chaser to me.

…I ‘think’ it’s CH entries day tomorrow.

Yes, he is a chaser. Just filling in for the hapless one.

Not at all, he don’t lose ground from what I’ve seen . He don’t ping them and jumps a bit big but lands running.
Hes a proper 2miler, his main opponents betting wise imo are not.
My main worry with SG is how he gets on if he gets in a battle, with the issues he’s had.

Yes, he may get away with it in a very odd year.

I just can't understand this negatively around Lossie. She is a 3x Festival winner and unbeaten at Cheltenham. In 10 races over 2m , she's won 8, 2nd on a track too sharp against one of the best hurdlers ever seen and fell against Champion Hurdler State Man when holding every chance. Won 12/15 all told.

Writing CH slips off is ludicrous. She should be Fav without a doubt.
Same story as last year though isn't it, everyone knows she should go for the CH, whether she can win it is another thing entirely, but connections seem lukewarm on the idea, they was last year and we know how that turned out, just feels like again the slightest excuse and they'll go mares hurdle, I'm not sure that'll be any easier a race to win but..

Or CH stays on his feet and does him 🤣
If he runs I'd be giving him a wide berth, fcuk riding him as well, hard enough game without getting on one who seems to have forgotten everything that once came naturally to him.

Nothing like last year. They had State Man and Constitution Hill was still around plus she had a horrible fall. Everything in her favour this year including having PT on top.

Aye, it's a completely different situation to last year.
