2026 Champion Hurdle

Technically not actually in either race is she...

But she'll be entered in both of course. Most Mullins horses will be entered in multiple. His JP ones being the exception where he doesn't make the decision.

The DRF will clear up her target. But we'll still have the conversations going on for 6 weeks afterwards regardless 😂

Haha, ok she still has the choice of the two races
I sincerely hope after she runs at Dublin we know her race for Cheltenham,and it’s the CH.
Doubt it though.

We won't know, and thats even if she wins well and willie says shes going for the champion hurdle. There always the likelihood of some sort of messing a week before such as "if the ground is quick enough then the mares race would be considered, we're keeping all options open". And markets will go into disarray again 😂

Well that’s your opinion, and fwiw mine too.
Right now though we are in the same situation as this time last year, not knowing which race she will run in at Cheltenham.

Yogi Breisner visiting Seven Barrows next week according to Nicky, apparently he'll be helping out with Constitution Hill, see if he can work his magic, surprised they hadn't contacted him sooner tbh.

im not so sure. what do they learn after drf - thats she's better than the 14-1 shot bda?

ricci has spent a fortune on some very average horses and surely wants a winner more than a shot at the title? lossies competition is sir gino and the new lion and she wont know if she's better than them after drf...so what does drf change? is she loses its a tap in for mares but do they change their mind on target if she wins?

As far as I’m concerned without State Man she’s already proved the best Irish candidate for the CH.

Think that shows how thin on the ground it is for genuine Champion hurdle level horses atm to me, BDA could be at that level, but so far she doesn't seem to bring her A game to the cotwolds, doesn't leave a lot for Lossie to be tested by at home really, so I suppose until they run her in a CH they'll never really know, and this year it does look very winnable.

Edit - and thats another thing, even if BDA did beat Lossie at the DFR, would that impact on her chances of winning the CH, I don;t think it would personally, but it would give Ricci a get out if he wanted one.

What’s our chances of beating Sir Gino?
The answer determines her race?

No tap in with Wodhooh about for sure and BDA demolished the then Champion Hurdler at Leopardstown. She wins she goes CH. She loses she goes Mares. I really do think it's that simple and can't understand why anyone else would think otherwise. Beyond me....

It’s beyond me that they are unsure what race to go for!!
Guess they think she might get beat at DRF.
Well she could fall of course.
