2026 Champion Bumper

I've gone in again on Heldam @ 66s.

We all know Willies aren't all running to form and by all accounts he'd won a schooling bumper in the lead up and was considered right amongst the top of the bumper crop they have. With the fact they now have the favourite in the market with something they considered weren't amongst their best and we've seen previous that some of his better bumper horses have been beaten first time up (ferny hollow an obvious one) and I'm willing to give him another chance at what could look a silly price should he win his next bumper.

I’ve followed you in on this one. Also had a nibble on bud fox pre race today. Though another disappointing run. He’s another that seems to have gone by the wayside with a big pre-season hype profile.

Im surprised Passengers run today at Leopardstown hasn’t resulted in a bit of collateral love for Oh My Word, especially with 14/1 still readily available.

Royal Hilsborough provided even more substance in third with the form in behind Gordons mare that beat Bambino Fever at Naas.

I agree, although some in behind Oh my word have disappointed a bit when sent hurdling.
The bumper today actually looked useful and the winner picked up well after being boxed out a bit when they started racing.
Only two I've got backed at the minute.

Was very different ground Passenger was running on against OMW so I wouldn’t read into that too much. Id say Passenger definitely appreciated the better ground today

Patrick Mullins puts up Heldam as one to take forward - “don’t give up on him”. That 66s won’t last long.

Thought Quiryn won the bumper today in some style. Prob the best of Willie’s we’ve seen thus far. Anyone know if he was well thought of at the yard?

Win has a bit of substance through the second placed horse, Apache Peak, who finished second to Minella Yoga in a hurdle race in November. 9L behind Quiryn (getting 7lbs), 5L behind Minella (same weights).

Cut into bumper favourite, but 16/1 available in Hills specials.

….interesting Jamie Codd suggests David Pipe’s No Walkover for this. As high as 33-1 with a few firms, Lads as low as 14-1.

Could have some substance that, he’ll know all Elliott’s horses.
The horse he beat on debut has won since and the horse who just beat him (neck) in his PTP (Cristal D’Estruval) has won twice for Harry Derham, is rated 132, and has a 33/1 quote for the Supreme….

The Wager looked useful today. It looked to be a pretty hot version with a good word around for Coopers horse. Then Detroit Maverick set sail and I thought the winner did well to catch him. I guess with them finishing so close to each other one could question the form but it maybe that they are both useful horses. They did show greenness as well so who knows which one will ultimately prove best. The winner now into 16/1.

Did expect Oh my word to be in there myself
Trainer was asked after last run if drf was plan and he said they had no plans whatsoever. You'd still think he'd have had an entry but maybe they've other ideas.

Maybe the owners in the process of selling him and just didn't want to pay the entry fee considering he won't own him by then 😂
