I’m with you on that.

I need to watch it back when I get back from Cheltenham tomorrow evening, but watching it unfold it looked good enough for maybe a placed horse at the Festival in the Triumph.

20/1 for the winner seems about right.
 
25s still available in at least one place, which appeals to me more than for example 16s for Porticello. Knight Salute has beaten Magistrato by the same sort of distance as Porticello did in France, ticks the (race)course experience box and to my eye the win yesterday looked to be in an easier fashion than Porticello's at Wetherby a fortnight ago. It's fine margins but I think that 9pts in the price makes KS a better bet at this stage...if one is in the market for best of the English Triumph candidates in November!
 
I wasn't convinced with Knight Salute as a triumph horse myself, but he won well.
It was just the proximity of the others like others have mentioned that causes doubt.
It's obviously on the other course, and maybe that makes a difference to some peoples thoughts also.

Yeah I'm of the same view, he travelled beautifully and when he got the rail I expected him to sprint away and although he put daylight between himself and the field it did.t scream future G1 winner to me, the runner up was given RPR of 100 on his fifth start last time out and the third was a pig on the flat.
It didn't have the look of a great renewal to me, Knight Salute will need to do alot more between now and March for me to get interested in him for the Triumph...

I think if you win a G2 trial you aim for the big one and I'm sure that's what they'll do, he just doesn't look good enough for me but juveniles can and do mature at different rates and there may well be sufficient improvement to come so if you're a backer there is obviously hope, he's just not for me at this stage...

Trainer didn't say that, it's just the RP notes but best to use cashout if you've got the option. Don't know why he wouldn't be a triumph horse after that win:ambivalence:

I am not sure of the logic in the RP notes here. There is nothing in his style of running to suggest he needs a speed test and being by Sir Percy, he should be able to perform on soft and may even improve with some give in the ground. Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence so it would be nice if Knight Salute can show us for himself whether ground is a factor.

The trainer has already namechecked the Triumph so no worries there. Adonis next on the agenda

Robcour, with HDB, been gelded and has an entry in a 3yo maiden hurdle at Punchestown on 23rd Nov...
 
I see he finished third to lone eagle (irish Derby 2nd) and yibir (breeders cup turf winner)

The 4th won a listed race next time and is rated 101, the 5th has won twice since too

Admiteddly this was yibir pre gelding operation when he was a lunatic but thats very solid form

Be very interesting to see how he takes to hurdles

Brazil is an ex ballydoyle horse and a full brother to the winner of possibly the best st leger ever in Capri who showed glimpses of ability too rated 86 but in his win the second is now rated 98

You wound imagine coming from the De Bromhead yard that Gent J will be decent over the obstacles. Elliott down Royal winner is the leading contender for me at the moment, Moores horse has a serious engine but didn't look a natural over the hurdles
 
Hope it’s a good start for G Joe today seeing he was my first AP bet for this race this season.

He’s def the most exciting of those we haven’t seen yet on paper IMO. A big day for the HdB yard in punchestown would suit my antepost positions pretty nicely tbh what with him & grand jury. Life in the park looks a nice one but slightly deterred he got no mention in the stable tour!
 
Difficult not to be disappointed with Gentleman Joe there. Very one paced.

To be fair, the horse that fell did him no favours..but he was in trouble way before that, probably not good enough based on that
 
luckily B365 never suspended , got out of that with no loss, not looking like a Triumph winner , might improve for a few runs , but GJ was getting niggled 4f out , might be a Fred Winter horse with time
