2022 Triumph Hurdle

Thanks for sharing Tigger. His flat form was decent enough and on his last start on the flat he beat a horse called Six Feet Apart (also trained by Joseph O'Brien). In his first race over hurdles, Six Feet Apart won the 2m maiden hurdle race at Fairyhouse that Jeff Kidder won en route to winning The Boodles. It will be interesting to see how Champion Green and Six Feet Apart are campaigned and what their Cheltenham targets are.
 
Iberique Du Seuil declared Saturday. Fully expecting him to put his last run behind him and win impressively to resurrect my sole Triumph bet. Should appreciate the better ground and be much straighter following his first run.

Swinging London could be interesting first time up for same connections that introduced French Aseel. I suspect he may be another they might be looking at going to the sales with after debut. Could also be wrong, of course.

Fingers crossed. He'll either: throw his name in the hat, demoted to a handicap plot or stricken from the record entirely.
 
….best I’m seeing for Knight Salute after that win is 25-1 Hills, only 14-1 Sky.

Managed to get 20's. Was very impressed. Proper run race, travelled really well, quickened really well and Paddy laughed at them at the line. I like him very much.

…It was one this morning I took the 50-1 ‘win today & Triumph’ price (thanks to @Kotkijet) I was surprised at Brennan’s reaction when he crossed the line. We know it acts on the course, proper charged up that hill.

Lovely position. He looked very good to my trained eye :applause:
 
Been tracking him for a while since Kotki highlighted him, and took a point 45-1 boosted EW just before the off - glad I did! Was surprised that Magistrato wasn’t able to cope with him but KS looks a great prospect. Unfortunately the rest of my Triumph bets are a bit of a mess so let’s hope he can do the business next March…

Not a Triumph fan but was there today, backed him and was very impressed so pressed the button for the Triumph (took 20's) as it was a decent race today, good pace and ground I'd expect in March. He cruised throughout the race and took it up when he liked and quickened away. Magistrato was well beat which puts the Porticello form in question. He can do the same again at the Fez hopefully !

It was really noticeable how little energy Paddy was using compared to Harry and the others as they approached the final bend. Milton’s got some horse there, and I hope they put him away now for a break over the winter. The ground point is really important too - hadn’t considered that. I think time to put him in a couple of doubles…

Anyone thinking of betting Knight Salute for triumph, best bear the below in mind, from RP analysis after today's win;


A sound surface is important, hence connections already focusing on the spring with talk of the Adonis as a possible aim, with him not looking a Triumph horse and likely to be too far up the weights now for the Fred Winter.

Trainer didn't say that, it's just the RP notes but best to use cashout if you've got the option. Don't know why he wouldn't be a triumph horse after that win:ambivalence:

Totally agree Lobos - he’s just smashed one of the antepost favourites on C&D - he could hardly have looked more like a Triumph horse! Am on it with cash out (this time) but I’d be really surprised if they duck the Festival after that.

Yep agree with this. Travelled, stayed - he may not be good enough (I try not to get too involved early in this race) but not sure why he wouldn't be aimed here now.
 
…Knight Salute 27-1 with Hills boost.
 
With the first 6 only being covered by 4 and a bit lengths id be fairly dubious about the strength of the race at this stage personally
