2026 Gold Cup

Inothewayurthinkin continues to shorten. Generally 8/1. Crazy to think at this rate he could go off favourite. It doesn't say much for the rest, but of of course we will no doubt get the what a great race build up. It clearly isn't.
I've backed him at 16s and 12s nrnb as couldn't see him going off anywhere near that if lining up, but there's a lot of guess work behind the price shortening imo.

Im guessing its people seeing fact to file shortening for the ryanair, assuming that must mean he goes there, and assuming if he does go there then that must mean there is confidence behind inothewayurthinkin for the gold cup. That's my reading of it anyway, but maybe he is actually going very well at home again.

I’m sorry but am I the only one that just doesn’t like how it looks with Ino?

Or is it that he just hates winter and comes alive with the spring coming ground and weather?

Don’t get me wrong I’m a crabbit prick in the winter with the dark mornings and nights etc :ROFLMAO:

Time to go in on him I think.

He definitely comes to life in March .

Been absolute dog poo to this point though.

The weather in Ireland is just as shit right now as it was in the past few months 😂
They should probably wait until the sun comes out if they're planning on using that excuse.

Who knows really, maybe they've been messing around for some reason, or maybe he was actually in bad form and they've got him right, or maybe he just doesnt like leopardstown.

Not sure I agree. The Brits have a strong hand with King George well represented in addition to HC and Grey Dawning. Add to that the possibility of Gaelic and Fact to File as well as the distinct possibility of a three time Gold Cup winner and a back to form Inowhaturthinkin. What’s not to like?

Yeah, imagine that, two Cheltenham Gold Cup winners, two Ryanair winners, two Arkle winners, two King George winners, a Welsh National winner, an Irish Grand National winner, two Aintree Grand National winners, two BANC winners, two Turners winners, a Betfair Chase winner, a NHC winner multiple Irish Gold Cup winners.......

I must have missed some

Best Gold Cup Ever !!!!!😂

Savills, Aintree Bowl, Punchestown GCs, John Durkans … absolutely super race.

I had a look at his career and as far as I can see, he’s ran 4 times in the spring, won 3 and came 5th in grade 1 novice hurdle.

Maybe it is just the warmth and spring ground 👀 :ROFLMAO:

Looks that way doesn't it. Mental. At least if adds more weight to F2F going Ryanair.

If this was a good Gold Cup there is no chance that a horse who has shown as little as Inothewayurthinkin could go off favourite.

He is the current Gold Cup winner and owned by a mega gambler

Not sure what it is about Inothewayurthinkin, but he just strikes me as a one and done horse. He doesn't scream dual winner. Might be way off base with that assumption, but that's the vibe I get with him. 🤷‍♂️

Well to be fair to you, that’s what he’s been telling us this season.

When the money is down he runs well, when it isnt he doesn’t. He seems to me to be very appropriately named. Most of the time connections know he’s not in the mood then every now and then he makes it clear he is. On two previous occasions he has found over 30 pounds of improvement between runs . Neither of these were last years Gold Cup and one of these was between Feb and March. He’s gone from a 123 to a 160 and 129 to a 162. Admittedly both were steps up in trip but they do tell you that stepping from a 137 to a 170 plus is far from out of the question.

He also has a 100% record as favourite (admittedly only 2 from 2)

He was so impressive winning the Kim Muir the previous year off a huge weight in really testing conditions. He's just one of those that comes alive at the Fez. Probably just enjoys the big crowd and everything that goes with it.

Race is pretty much done for me now.
Jango and Jukebox been on side for a while now, may add Gaelic if confirmed and price suits me.
Then the two Mullins grand national horses on the day probably for some e/w fun.

I still need to look at the race in more detail, my strike rate in it is dire though

The horse I'd love to see win - Jukebox Man (but typical of me to like the King George type, who then comes here and gets done over)

The horse(s) I have decent antepost position - Gaelic Warrior but he always seems to get beat in top top top grade 1 races, and Jango baie who I am still very surprised to see as joint fav. I still think back to when he was a novice hurdler and he was ok, but nothing great. Maybe thats a sign of a future gold cup horse, he's one that hasnt really been exposed at the trip and could be anything

The horse(s) I cant be having for this - Inothewayurthinkin, I questioned why he didnt run in the grand national, that was his season target, and they ran him at the Fez and Aintree last season. I always thought the reason was that the GC left a mark on Inothewayurthinkin and he wasnt showing anything back at home. He's been terrible since, even worse than last season - at least last year you could say they were trying to protect his mark for the GN
Fact to File - Just cant get out of my head him fading in the John D, I just dont have him as a stayer. Classy but not a stayer.

Will come back to him next week, when I've had more time to review.
