Have bet Marie’s Rock for the Lanzarote antepost at 10/1. Was fav for the Mares Novice two years ago before injury struck which shows the ability and regard in which she's held. She came back far too keen from the injury and her form suffered dramatically as a result.
Mark dropped from 141 to 131 prior to an incredibly impressive win over C&D at Christmas. She settled much better up in trip there and bolted clear in incredible style. Bowen never got serious, she flattened the last and yet still spreadeagled the field.
Now she's settling better there should be an awful lot more to come at the trip with a largely unexposed horse. The Owners Group publication nominated this as the target so that's a big positive in terms of intent and Nicky has a good record in the race, albeit shit or bust:
2021 - 20 runners, 13th 50/1, PU 6/1
2020 - 13 runners, 1st 5/1
2019 - 14 runners, PU 8/1
2018 - 16 runners, 1st 7/1, 5th 5/1
2017 - 13 runners, no runner
2016 - 9 runners, PU 5/1
2015 - 13 runners, 11th 6/1
2014 - 13 runners, PU 6/1
2013 - 18 runners, 1st 5/1, 6th 8/1
I'm fairly convinced that Winter Fog is mark fishing which takes a nice chunk out of the antepost market. Gelino Bello, Up For Parol, Cobblers Dream are all doubly entered so it might not end up the strongest of races (which tends to be reasonably common for this).
All in all, I see Marie's Rock vying for favouritism at around the 4/1 mark max come the day so taking the 10/1 now seems as obvious a play as they come. Revised mark of 140 is extremely workable and a big field handicap hurdle looks ideal for her.
The bookies must have read your post, the 10's has gone and all in blue on oddschecker now. Good luck with her.
Haha cheers. Chris Day on Sporting Life Weekend View and Gavin Lynch both have her a good shout
I've been waiting for Nicholls to take the brake off Dolos in the 2m handicap at Sandown in early Feb for 6 months now, but he's in the 50k 0-145 on Friday at Lingfield and is currently 20s, which I don't think I can leave alone. Perhaps he's just gone at the game, but they've not really given him any sort of chance with the tactics adopted since finishing second in the handicap off 158 last year.
He's now down to 143, having bean up at 161 when beating First Flow in 2020 and giving him 22lb in the process.
I'd be more confident with him in the Sandown race, as his course record outside of the top level there is 2, 2, 1, 1, 2, but Nicholls won't pass up an opportunity for a Satuday pot like that.
Hard lines with this one - I was gonna follow you in this am but forgot. All roads lead to sandown it seems
Nevermind - just another couple of weeks to wait!
I'll be there Saturday too. The one that really catches my eye is Torn And Frayed.
Already ran at HQ twice over this distance this season. Running off 131, he looks really well in. First race, beaten 3 lengths by Annual Invictus (now 143) getting 3 pounds and running off level with Danny Kirwan who won yesterday. Beat Faivoir who won next time out and Back On The Lash. Faivoir beat him by just shy of a length next time out.
Next time and Cheltenham, beat 7 lengths by My Drogo (155) off level weights with Jay Bee Why (137) a further 13 lengths behind.
Looks like he will prefer the better ground so we can put a line through his last run. 11/1 with Bet365 currently looks more than fair, good chance the current favourite Farinet won't run if he doesn't get soft ground, Magic Saint has his best form over 2 miles not 2m4, hopefully Galahad Quest is just running for a spin round before the Ultima. Could see him going off nearly half that price, he was a shorter price to beat My Drogo...

Been very well backed. I've done the single and slapped him in an acca with Chantry House, Third Time Lucki and Hillcrest. What could go wrong? :biggrin-new:
Bloody hell! Last time I looked he was 10/1, when I read this I assumed he was like 7/1 not 9/2 favourite :highly_amused:
Didn't realise people took my tips so seriously![]()
Haha, you made a good case and a couple of others have done similar on podcasts and such.
Yeah, managed to get the 10s. Hopefully get a good run, eh? :encouragement:

Yeah I mean the form is fairly obvious to see so I'm sure the podcast boys and girls have seen it too.
Fingers crossed!
