PS: The Prize Funds for the Kim Muir is really low this year. No wonder Coko Beach and RWF went to the Thyestes for about 80% more dosh.

I know we all felt they were ruining their Cheltenham marks, but maybe finanicially it made much more sense to target the Thyestes this season, and cop the cash, and deal with ratings/other targets after.

Be less worried about the trip (on his breeding) than his average form and completion record.
i.e - him winning or not, is probably not trip related.

He just looked good/in form the last day and could be one they enter up next week, as he's in the right ratings band.
Elliot & JP and all that.

Prize money's always been better though. To some degree.
And they've always ran horses we thought might be heading to cheltenham in other Irish handicaps.

But They still really want winners at cheltenham.
It's just finding the one or two that turns up on the day.

The issue is that the Elliott obsession (guilty myself) is over egged and the horses he has handicapped to be competitive are not as good as previously.
Through injury or just happen chance.

Like your stats pointed out the other day, there is not very many Irish turn up in the Kim Muir, but I'd rather be on them than most of the uk runners.

The O’Learys are full of shit, all the crap around Tiger Roll not running in the Grand National all year and now Run Wild Fred not running at Cheltenham. The only thing stopping RWF running would be injury or not having a suitable jockey but if the amateurs can’t ride I’d be confident Gordon will have a top jockey lined up.

To be fair as CAT suggests is he not suggesting Fairyhouse over Aintree as opposed to Cheltenham? Original source of the quote would be useful

He's one I'm interested in too. Thought he jumped and travelled very nicely in the big handicap at Leopardstown LTO.

But he doesn't seem to win very often and only 14-1 NRNB (WH go 20-1). Could certainly see him making the frame though IF he comes here.

I see he's also joint second favourite for the Irish Grand National so perhaps they'll skip the Festival.

Yes I do, but that was on the basis that he didn’t run between Christmas and Cheltenham, the same as the trainers Plan of Attack last year.

Minella Times ran at the DRF and went up from 140 to 144, and this week the UK handicapper has given him 146 in the Grand National, which means he is now 1lb too high to be allowed to run in the Kim Muir.

So Ive written off my bet on him, at the moment, and crossing my fingers that Henry enters here, and the UK handicapper knocks him down 1lb which is longshot.

Ah, thanks Saxon. Sorry, didn't realise he'd got an Aintree entry. He'll almost certainly make the cut too at a very attractive weight. There will be many worse 50-1 shots.
